Quick translation:

kam = short for camshaft (cam)

lyft = lift

racing, kräver minst 2x45 förgasare eller motsvarande = racing, takes at least 2x45 carburettors or equal

nockvinkel = topangle(?)

hela kammen backad 3 grader senare = the camshaft is backed three degrees later

Samtliga kamaxlar utom VX, VX3 finns med så väl utan fördelardrivning. Oavsett så är det samma data. = All camshafts exists with and without distributor driving except VX and VX3.

Thanks for more information on these cams.

nockvinkel = topangle(?) In English that would be Lobe Angle. The lower the lobe angle the more valve overlap the cam has.

Don't worry, your English is better than many Americans.

:lol: Ok, i suspected "top angle" wasnt really on the spot!

Watching swedish TV is 70% American sit-coms...
One wouldnt think anyone could learn anything from those. :-P

Im gonna be shopping around for a new cam soon but i really dont know which one to get. I dont have that much mechanical knowlege about engines and such. I got a 90 740 turbo with a B230FT. Generaly id like to have more grunt in 3rd gear or higher RPM. Im not at all sure what different amounts of lift does or any of that. So can someone help me out?

For a n/a B23F motor a good cam choice is the VX cam from Volvo. You can buy this from IPD.

Wish you well,

i think it would work very well :-) . its a little "better"(dont know what you call it.. it gives possibility to get more horsepower from the engine) than a VX or VX3... i like the H camshaft... not so fun drivin slow but when you pass 3000 rpm :twisted:

on my first car i had that, it was almost like a little turbo-lag between 2500-3000 rpm :wink:

You're probably referring to a combo sold by Dale (245gti) on this board. Buy it, it's a good deal, and a great cam - just check my sig...
