Whats everyone got in thier volvo?
I have a clarion pro audio head unit 50x4, clarion 4.5 in front and 5.5 in back, and a rockford fosgate HE sub I need a box and amp still.
07-07-2002, 02:14 AM
Kenwood deck- 45x4, only half a year old, the 416? model?
4" polk in the front
6x9 JBL in the back
MTX kicker in the very back.... well rounded system, but I'm going w/ all infinity speakers after installing them in my sisters car, nice nice nice....

My s60 is the stock 804 (I think...pretty sure thats the number of it) and is the BEST sounding stereo I've heard hands down. I mean, w/ exception to all out bass, it's the best balanced stereo I've heard, even w/ most aftermarket set ups.
Basicly though, in my old 244,
Pioneer 6300, 4" infinity's and 6X9 Pioneer 3 ways. 100 watt Pioneer amp and 10" Polk Audio Momo Sub.
Theresa850's Pioneer 2300, 4"sony's up front and stock rears. 10 disc Pioneer trunk-changer.

some very nice equipment so far
07-13-2002, 04:43 PM
Well the guy who bought my car from new raided the options list so my S70 has:
805SC Head Unit with full premium sound speaker (dynaudio?) setup (12 speakers including dual subs in parcel shelf) and external amp and to be honest, it rocks.
But I saw this the other day and am tempted:
07-13-2002, 08:51 PM
Work in progress: :D
Old Alpine TDM (Tape!?) head unit
Kenwood WS3003 12" sub in a sealed box
Boschman 600W 4 channel amp
Sony 6 x 9's in a seath rear parcel shelf
Front mids and tweeters are standard, but i have my eye on some bargain price magnat components.
ICE on a budget. :blabla:
Oh and a PC based MP3 player if i ever stick the power supply and bits together thats in the garage.
07-16-2002, 05:14 AM
my old s70 had all MB quart, alpine 7909 head (the best), all with zapco amps and processors, too bad my s70 was a lemon
07-24-2002, 01:28 AM
I have an el kameleon HU, JBL GTO speakers everywhere, Dome tweeters, JBL Power 6x9s, 800 watt amp, bandpass box, top of the line pioneer vccs sub.
oh and a bunch of dynamat. And i rewired all the speakers with 16 gauge twisted wire...
07-24-2002, 01:39 PM
people on here have some pretty good stuff.
07-24-2002, 05:16 PM
Removed all factory parts. Replaced with Pioneer 50x4 head unit cd player, Polk door speakers, Bazooka bass tube in back. Also had to rewire all speakers, the factory wiring looks like something that was used on my bike's generator light! The factory surround sound basically sucked, and the cd stacker jammed and would not read cd-r format. I still have the head unit if anyone wants it.
07-25-2002, 06:25 PM
Which pioneer? I've had the 4300, 2300 and another 2300.
07-25-2002, 11:29 PM
MOSFET 50x4 Premier, whatever the hell that means.:stooges:
07-26-2002, 02:52 AM
MOSFET is the type of power amp. Is it the style w/ the graphics (pretty sure it is) or just the normal?
07-26-2002, 12:52 PM
It has all the bells & whistles, all I care is that it reads all formats and doesn't jam like the OEM did.
07-26-2002, 06:06 PM
Very cool! I've always been a long time pioneer customer.
08-05-2002, 05:18 PM
Some great sound systems on here!
Currently I run
Pioneer Premier DEH-36 head unit (4 years old) one year before the MOSFET amps were incorporated into the normal Pioneer decks. Friends and I think this one has MOSFET, as my 6x9s sounded better through the deck than my friends 75x2 amp.
Alpine 4" Front
Pioneer 4way 6x9s in rear deck
Half pre wired for amp :P just gotta run the power and ground cables.
Only upgrades I am thinking here are new head unit, and 5.25" fronts. But it sounds great right now so it will probably stay this way as other items on car need attention!
82 242Ti 168k miles
84.5 245Ti 300k miles retired due to condition... :( now parts car :)

LUKE!!!! Hey bud, welcome to CV!
My little 440:-
I've got a Kenwood KRC-V879R cassette head unit with the latest 10 disc multichanger mounted in the boot amongst the power distribution block, Phoenix Gold amp and Sony amp. In the front doors I have some JL audio TR series 5.25" 2 ways, facing 6 sq. ft. of Dynamat Xtreme sound deadening on each door. This with 4 guage cable running to the boot to power the amps. On the rear stealth shelf I've got a pair of very sweet Philips 6x9's, with a Diamond Motorsport 10" sub in a sealed Rockford box. The Phoenix runs the sub and the Sony the front speakers. The head unit pushes 4x47 but only runs the 6x9's.
All in all, I'm pleased!!

Pioneer 6300, 4" infinity's and 6X9 Pioneer 3 ways. 100 watt Pioneer amp and 10" Polk Audio Momo Sub. Just put in XM radio es mucho niceo
83 242 with 4"alpine speakers in front 6' mb quart speakers in rear. Sony cd head unit. US Acoustics several hundred watt amp and last but not least a bazooka subwoofer tube. Good enough to make BTO rock. Dan C
08-29-2002, 02:32 AM
Tottaly! I blew up 3 bazooka's though w/ Money For Nothing by Dire Straights!
Have you seen the latest crutchfield? Bazooka has one that looks exactly like a NOS bottle! How cool is that?
I mean, really how cool is that. A bit ricey, but still way cool!
08-29-2002, 08:37 AM
my install is serious! 2-15" dvc 1500w blaupunkt subs, Kenwood excelon head unit with 5v pre-outs, Power acoustik fire n ice f12x1600 amp (1600w max) 8 jbl mids and highs. All capable of hittin' 148.4 dB.
08-29-2002, 09:21 PM
My old 100watt guitar amp could probably get close to that volume...ahh probably not.
08-30-2002, 12:52 AM
Actually, I bought new toys today.
For the 242ti I bought, pioneer 6400, 200w pioneer amp, 10" kenwood sub. I've already got 2 Boston Acoustic 6X9's (I think) from the 85! Also picking up 4" 2way kenwoods (they are on backorder at the moment).
09-10-2002, 02:07 AM
nothing at all at the moment but big system planned
09-16-2002, 10:07 AM
bazookas suck. my friends blew at its rms point. it was only a ten and had it installed professionally and it still sounded like crap even tho they did a really good job
Yah, but I only paid 20.00 for my bazooka so I can't complain. I only have about 450.00 total in my system and it works for me:D . Dan C
09-16-2002, 08:20 PM
I like bazooka's, but I blew a couple of them myself.
I've noticed that they go because people (I myself) run to much freq through them.
10-04-2002, 06:27 PM
Up front, I have a Premiere DEH-740MP headunit.
Blaupunkt PA22-00 200x2 wRMS amplifier that i had laying around drives my CDT Audio 4" component set.
Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2 amp drives my two Alpine Type R 12" subwoofers.
I also have CDT Audio 5.25" rear fill speakers.
you can see my current setup here:
The CDT components sound amazing.
I'm building a new box/amp rack right now with Plexiglas and fiberglass, and it will be done in a week or so.
I'm new here, and I'm pretty knowledgable with car audio technical questions
10-08-2002, 07:51 PM
Well, I got a Aiwa deck(it's not as bad as ppl told me)
Blumpkunt 5.25" speakers in the front door
Jensen 6.5" in rear deck
Rockford Fosgate 350S amp
and a BUMPIN' Infinity Perfect 12.1 12" Sub
in the near future I want to build a custom rear deck outta ply wood so my speakers will be more flush and then sound better.

10-09-2002, 09:57 AM

10-11-2002, 12:34 PM

JVC and four speakers. I´m not into car audio. I like horsepowers better ;)
10-18-2002, 02:22 PM
one 600 W amp and a 15" 750W subwoofer..
05-13-2004, 05:52 PM
Pioneer DEH 1500 CD player
Boss Ripper 495 amp
10 inch Peavey Scopian 800 watt max sub
15 inch EV 400 watt max sub
05-13-2004, 06:21 PM
Alpine CDA-9813, Pioneer TS-D690R's in the deck, and stock (for now) front door speakers. Less bass than my old Pioneer P3300, but better quality. Now gotta get the cash for the Basslink.
05-13-2004, 06:33 PM
Right now... trash -
-Pioneer DEH-3400 deck
-Pioneer 760watt amp @ 250w/ channel on my
-Pioneer 6x9's on the back deck w/ 250 watts max each.
I need new 4" speakers in the front, and perhaps one day I will figure out how to brige my 2 channel amp to 3 channels and get my 12" Pioneer sub installed that sits in a box under my bed.
05-27-2004, 11:29 PM
I got a Kenwood KDC-X769 right now. I got pics of it in the car but its bad quality, so heres a pic of the head unit itself. I plan to get some new speakers, amp, and a some 12" ALpine Type-R subs :)
05-27-2004, 11:32 PM
oh well, hers a pic of it in the car, jus so u get a better idea of how it looks installed.
06-04-2004, 12:33 AM
Kenwood head unit not powering anything, Pioneer 4 channel amp putting out 50x4 RMS to a pair of Pioneer 6.5" coaxials in front doors and a pair of Pioneer 6.5" coaxials in custom boxes on the rear dash (soon to be fiberglassed). Audiobahn 2 ch amp, used to be putting 400x2 @2 ohms stereo into 2 Rockford Fosgate 12" subs in sealed enclosures, but just finished building an enclosure for my new Audiobahn AWT10X 10" sub. Wired the amp for 800x1@4 ohms mono and put the sub into 2 ft³ tuned to 37hz. The 10" ported hits harder than the 2 12"s sealed! might get rid of it though, I'm finding myself to be more of an SQL or even SQ guy, SPL doesn't suit my tastes. So now i've got 3 subs sitting around until i can get my hands on a Resonant engineering XXX sub maybe. And while I throw all my money into a subwoofer setup that will satisfy me, I completely ignore the fact that I desperately need a component set for the front instead of coaxials. but i digress from my rambling...
09-05-2004, 10:39 PM
Boss Audio BA-1600 CD player
Boss Audio BA-2900 1000 watt amplifier
Manic Sound Systems 4" 2 way 120watt front speakers
Boss Audio BA-694 6x9" 4 way 300 watt rear speakers
Boss Audio BA-104 10" 800 watt subwoofer.
09-07-2004, 03:45 PM
i just finished my stereo and heres what i have installed:
a JVC CD deck with 3D display
4" pioneers in the front
6.5" pioneers in the back in a custom inclosure
a kenwood 500watt RMS (1000watt max) mono amp powering a 12" rockford HE2 sub in a ported box. it pounds pretty loud
I've got an eclipse CD8454 Head unit at the top dash location in a 89 240. I've relocated all the controls to the lower dash location on a compact Custom panel. In the center Dash (where the controls use to be) I have a flushmounted Alpine 7" touch screen Pannel running off the 2005 Alpine DVD Player. The Audio runs off the Elcpise head to two Eclipse Amps. The Speakers are JL audio, 3-way Componet set broken up into Kick pannels and the doors, time aligned off the Head unit. Two 10w6v2d2 in a double compound reflex box, constructed with carbon fiber and Plexiglass. Custom designed alternator from Utah Generators, and a complete Stinger Charging system, with a total of 10 farad Capacitor System. It's my baby. I'm just working on the Performance angle of things and then she can hit the show rooms.
