Hi Volvo Buds: I've got an '87 244 (121K original miles) and I'd love to add some sort of wooden accents to the dash as I'd done on my Saab 9000. I'd like rosewood or something to dress up the plain plastic. I've not found any such resource for this model. Can anyone help? Thanks!:D

Please please please excuse my ignorance. I can't remember if the 244 and the 240 had the same dash....

However, here is a link for the 240 -- I hope it works for you.

Take care.

Thanks so much Calamazoo! I'll be sure to check these dashboards out! Why didn't I just type 'wooddash.com' in the first place?!? LOL!

The 244 is basically the 240 in a 4-door if I have my facts straight. Anybody is welcome to correct me.

(cool site this is! I got this reply within MINUTES! - thanks again):D

You know, you can buy flat sheets of pliable carbon fiber through summit and other places. Just make your own! Be original, if they don't make a kit!

But how would you attach it?

Ok so where do you get adhesive-backed fake carbon fiber? Everyplace I've looked carbon fiber (fake) comes in sheets but I've never seen any adhesive backed stuff.

I had already checked out exotic wood dash (from the ad in Road and Track..my fav magazine, besides iPd..but that's a catalog heh)..anywho, they only had it listed for a 1992+ so I never really paid attention to whether it looked like my dash or not.

Jegs carries the flat stuff, all you'd have to do is get some 3M spray glue stuff. I'm thinking pulling my cluster back apart and making a custom CF treatment to go around the gauges. That would look sharp. But, over all for interior stuff it's hard to beat those places like www.wooddash.com

thats the almost exact dash I was gonna get but it had a better looking grain design and was going to be carbon fiber. not sure if that one is tho. but my car was broekn into the night before it was gonna be installed so I couldn't get it b/c of the money issue. it was lsightly different tho.

Carbon fiber with wood grain over it? Why waste the money of CF if you can't see it?

the wood grain was encased in carbon fiber.
