Ok guys, This monday I'm going to find out if I get to purchase a 164e equipped with a M410. I've heard of these transmissions being adapted from the b30f engine bolt patern to the B21/23/230 engine bolt patern. Which is what I plan on doing if I acquire said M410.

From what I hear these transmissions are nearly indestructable, and have been used by many swedish racers to rocket 9 and 10 second cars down the strip.

Now, my question for you is:
Have any of you done this swap?
If so, how did you complete it.

What I know about the M410:
it has a 1 & 1/8" 10 spline input shaft (insane). Many BMW's have this input shaft as well. The clutch from a BMW 2002 will fit inside the non-intercooled 8.5" flywheel/pressure plate sandwich and should work. Which saves one problem of the swap.

Now...as far as adapting the bolt patern goes...I'm worried about making an adapter plate, and running out of input shaft length to reach the clutch spline.

Looking for some expertiese,

Isaiah, I can point you to my swede that has all the answers!

PM him here at: JohnnyE he has a 300 hp+ 142, and was the first person who told me about using a m410.

Oh and for the record, I hate you.
