I just bought a pioneer deck (DEH 3400) and i was wondering if their is anything extra i'll need to instal it into my '91 240 sedan. My plans are to put in pioneer 5.25" speakers in each of the doors, and then power a pair of pioneer 6x9" on the rear deck with a 100-200 watt amp... the subs are comming in the summer(2 12" jl subs in a pro box, and a 400-600 watt amp... and all that stupidly expensive wiring).

any help would be appreciated,
thanx,
-Jonathan

Sounds like you better get the saws-all out and start cutting some sheet metal because the doors and rear deck are both 4". I think the only thing you might need for the stereo is a wiring harness.

Be sure to check the depth of your driver for the
door panel they are very shallow. I put a 6" mid
in mine. I had to build up a spacer because of the
depth. I took a couple pieces of MDF and glued
them together , then cut them with a bandsaw
into the shape I wanted and finally covered
with some material like sub boxes are covered with.
If you go this route don't forget to leave enough
height , so you can flush mount the driver.

5.25's fit fine, provided you mount the speakers on top of the door panels.

The rears are a different story, but easily done.

Pioneer decks are great, all I've ever owned!
