Those were a cool first attempt at a sports car. The P1800 is the really nice result to me as far as Volvo sports cars go. A 123GT is a really fun to drive sports sedan in the new for the 1960s high performance small sedan market.

There was the Lotus Cortina, Alfa Giulietta, and BMW 1602/2002 to compete with. Probably some I'm forgetting.
