While idleing at stoplights I sometimes get what I assume is an ignition cut. The motor stumbles for just a second and then runs fine again. I think it's code related since I don't recall that it was a problem in the past. I'm running the code that comes with MTB417.

I don't know what firmware you refer to, but it definitely sounds familiar. Try updating to newer/est code (24s9 is newest stable IIRC)... you may need to re-enter lots of your data, the msq is restructured. If you still have this problem, ask on msefi.com in the MSnS-E group, they're VERY helpful.

Watch your computer and check out the advance gauge, see if it drops. I've had this problem too in the past, though it was just for a little while and I forget what caused/fixed it. Now ignition cut as a rev limiter...... My brother driving behind me said I spewed a nice torch like flame out the back  .

I did finally upgraded to 24s9 and MT2.25 b514. I guess I was running like 24s3? and MT417 As usual it took a few flashes for the entire code to take. For some reason I was only getting the fuel side flashed but not the spark. After that fun she started right up and I had to enter in some new data because of code changes. Atleast for tonight I didn't experience any of the ignition cut and maybe i'm crazy, but I think the car actually runs better? especially at higher RPM's it feels smoother.

sounds like you're using a bad usb-serial adapter

Nah. My laptop doesn't even have a USB port. I have to wipe it a few times in hyperterm and then diconnect, reconnect and upgrade. Download.bat never works.
