First of all am I using the right distributor? I have a 86 240 lh2.2 dizzy. It sends the hall signal, right? No vacuum?

Second, I'm going to get a bigger throttle body (don't know what off of yet, but looking for a 65-70mm) Could I use the tps that comes with the donor tb, or would I have to adapt an 850 tps? (what does the tps have to have? you can't use a tps from a 240, but an 850. what does the 850 tps have that ms requires?)

Third, Are resistors required? Further, what do they actually do?

Lastly, using b21ft block, where is a good place to tap a hole for the knock sensor?

I'm trying to get a grasp on everything. Bare with me.

Thanks

Correct.

I'd use a B230 throttle body, it will be easier to fit to your Volvo engine and to fit an 850 TPS onto (or any kind you like). I've heard of Nissan and Ford mustang TPSs also being used.

(what does the tps have to have? you can't use a tps from a 240, but an 850. what does the 850 tps have that ms requires?)
The sensor on your car right now is not a TPS, it's a throttle switch, it only detects WOT or not WOT. A true TPS can assign a percentage value to the throttle position instantaneously, from 0-100%. Of course they have to be calibrated.

Third, Are resistors required? Further, what do they actually do?

Lastly, using b21ft block, where is a good place to tap a hole for the knock sensor?

You'll need resistor packs to go with MS (if you're using low impedance turbo injectors. Why the B21 block? Knock sensor, I don't know. I'm not going to use one.

Here are some pictures of B21 block that has been modified to accept the knock sensor.

you'll need resistors to run ms&s.. why? because the hall sensor needs a bit of voltage regulation going to it (hence the 10 ohm resistor in my write up, seems to work well)

and the 390 (which doesnt actually have to be 390, just ball park) on pin 24 is an external pull up resistor for the tach input circuit... Pull up/down resistors are generally used to quell "extra" noise thats induced with edge triggered events

does the 85 b230ft block have the knock sensor cuz i see on on my block that looks just like the ones in the link that boris supplied...its that the sensor thats on my car right now
