I want a paint job on my car. Either the dark red/brown it is now and black from the belt line up, or dark silver and black from the belt line up. I am leaning towards the red and black. Anyways, since it wont be a show car, and i'll probably keep this car for a while (college and stuff, so i dont need a high resale value) i just want a paint job where the strip it, prime it, paint it, and clear coat it. i dont want them to take the car apart because i know that costs big bucks. so, how much would it cost to do a job like that? hell, i could even strip it myself... however i do want it to look good and shine of course.

you can save yourself some money by taking the exterior of the car apart yourself. if you want it to look good you will need to at the least remove the door panels and door jams so that they can paint those. You can also save some money by sanding it yourself and making any body repairs as well as masking off all the interior and engine bay and anything else you dont want sprayed. Its best to leave the mudding, priming, base coats and clear coats, cutting and polishing, etc up to the pros.
