the wheel idea i kinda like.

need to be lower though, but not to low.

I think those wheels are hot. Drop an LS-1 in there and it can be American muscle!

Will a 455 fit?

I almost liked the wheels, until I realized it isn't a Mustang. However, that is about 50x more tasteful than some rims that I have seen on cars. Just my personal preference. Nice paint color, but I would love to see it now!

EDIT:// Tint the front windows too. Not as dark as the back, just enough.

yes all poncho v8 blocks are the same size. relatively the same exterior dimensions as sbc.

good choice of the 455! thats the only v8, other that the 403, that i would swap into a brick.

oh and i love those style wheels.

and my completed goal....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/Automotivefever/almostdone2.jpg

I wanted to give it a slight american muscle look thats why the paint and rims...Something a little different, I just dont wanna give it the same euro look that I see on most built bricks(not saying it looks bad, i like that look!) and yup the 455 will fit nicely...My loose the white stripe and move the "455" up to where the volvo tag is on the fender.

Something to take on all the ricers around here lol

i like it, not too crazy(please don't do a stupid cowl hood) and the rims are decent, they go well with the paint color for some reason. maybe you could get a trans-am rear spoiler to give the rearend some life

and lowered a bit will make it look just right imo

and welcome to the board, get to work!

yeah definatly NO cowl induction hood of any kind, I'm going to leave the stock one on with out any mods to it. Yeah kinda stuck on the rear end look, still not sure what I'm going to put to spice up the back. Probably going to drop the front down a bit because the back is already low enough. Damn speed bumps around here kill low cars lol.

Thanks for the welcome!!

The rear height for 240's always looks lower than the front to me. If i drop mine, which i REALLY want to, i will do the front about an inch lower than the rear. the car looks like its leaning back to me...

I agree, they look the same way to me too!

Mate, you could only get away with that if you had a seriously thumping V8 under the bonnet. You'd be dragged at the lights everywhere!

Big blocks "similar" to a sbc... yes I suppose so, the same size? I definately disagree there! I think the extra size of the block will cause mounting/oil pan clearance issues. Larger heads and that little extra width with make headers a trick around the steering shaft. Length wise you'd need to worry about clearing the firewall with the distro, then getting a nice fat rad in there to cool the beast! Overall it's definately a bigger motor, so I wouldn't call it a straight forward sbc swap. Can it be done? Sure anything can be done if you work hard enough, it might only take alittle fire wall massaging, using something similar to a sanderson header block hugger style... etc etc (I'm not exaclty sure what the issues might be). Another thing to consider is the added weight of the Big block, turning and stopping won't be quite as fun... but it should handle the other department quite well!

I have nothing against big blocks... My chevelle wouldn't be the same without one!

I'd just be alittle afraid sticking one in a 240! However it would be neat to see it done! The torque thrusts definately would match a big block mill, kinda have the american theme to it.. Otherwise personally i'd go for something else... but that's just my .02

dude, that is hot. if it doesn't look exactly like that, right down to the wheels AND tires, when you're done, I'll find you and kick your ass. :-P

Getting the trany to fit is really my only worry. May have to do some plasma cutting and a little welding but shouldnt be too hard to get it to fit.

whether ponchos blocks are bigger or smaller that a chevy small block, im not sure but they are close. and all poncho v8s are the same block sized. just different bores and stroke.
