newark int'l. my dad knows the faps import people at the port so we
cruised down to see some nice cars and my new 244 which is being kept
there until i start fall '05 at umass amherst.

another restoration by the owners of the port. it's a '53 lincoln convertible. this car was absolutely immaculate. also, suicide doors make it that much better.

this was one of the rarer cars there. the maserati spyder cambiocorsa. only 90 made this year and they had six of them lined up. the top drops nicely and the v8 is fricken smooth. he fired it up and it sounded like a real pasta rocket v8 should. rev happy and responsive

also, i saw this nice xc90 v8 with chromed wheels

now, onto the cream of the crop, my new 244:

'86 244 dl w/ 65k original miles. completely stage 0'd with basically all wear items replaced. new injectors, timing belt, shocks, plugs, wires, cap, pads etc. it had some rust in places, but the b ody shop here at the port cut out all the old metal, welded in new stuff, and sprayed it with the original volvo colour.

I liked giugiaro's original design for the european-market 3200 taillights alot more, damn DOT and their hating of good designs.

this car is getting babied, trust me. i have a fitted volvo brand car cover for it that's going on as often as i can muster. i'm not touching it save for possibly, maybe a set of e-codes. they do project more light and i just can't stand that yellowish tinge the DOT's get after a while...
