This is my first ever project car.
1984 245 GL B23F M46

I first bought the car because i got in an accident with my 81 244. Then restored my 244 to drive while i built up the wagon. I bought it for $600 canadian out of the buy and sell. I am the third owner of the car and the guy who had it before me owned it for 8 years and kept all service records. It had cosmetic problems but the engine is relaly strong for an NA so i figured it was a good buy.

The interior was blue and ugly so i switched it out wth the black stuff from my 244...

One thing i really wanted was to cut the buttcheeks off the car as i thought, and still do think that the lines of the 200 are better without the buttcheeks...

I used sheets of metal and then fiberglass for teh inside so the shelf would still be useful for putting things... just not a spare tire unfortunately, but i knew that beforehand...

Here is where the car sat for the resotration process. The flathood conversion was a must in my eyes as well

There were a couple places that had holes and rust. i did my best with the fiberglass and then bondo, but it was my first time doing it and i kinda taught myself so it is very VERY noticeable even after i sanded it down and painted the car...
here are pics from when i was bondoing...

Prelude front bucket seats...
This idea was stolen from BLOWN240. He told me how to make them fit and i did my best without being able to weld anything... they sit a little high and crooked but i'm ok with that until i can get my hands on a welder. They are very very comfortable and hold me in the seat very well...

about two weeks after the car looked like that i painted the car with rattlecans and it turned out HORRIBLE!.. I painted it with rattlecans because i needed it to be at least al the same colour for the Northwest meet on july 30/31st. I really was just out of time to bring it somewhere to get it professionally done and that will happen at some other time...

aha... and the soundsystem.
2 10" JL audio W0's being powered by a small sony amp.
2 5.5" clarion speakers in the bottoms of the back doors
2 4" JBL GTO speakers in the front door in the stock location.
2 6x9" Panasonic speakers (currently sitting on teh back seats)... I have wired these speakers up so that i can put them in the ceiling... they will go just behind the back seats facing straight down...

what the future holds:
Swapping in my B23E to remain NA but get a bit more kick... I may however simply put the K cam in for a bit more power at high rpms.
Polished lip black center Virgo's
Cut 2 full coils off the front
back windows tinted
Properly fit the seats in
Black rear seats
Cloth Black headliner with the 6x9's properly mounted
Intake and exhaust for the B23E

Those seats look damn nice, and the paint job doesn't really look too bad -- maybe it looks worse in person :-P

And any advice for a fellow first-time bondo'er? Looks like mine was rusted in the same place as yours (behind rear passenger side wheel). Would like to do at least a semi-decent looking repair.

Good work man- good from far is often good enough! Looking forward to meeting you and your ride!

You'll get lots of suggestions on the weekend, but let me be the first to say- save yourself the time and $ and just put a k-cam in. That's where most of the power gain of the B23E (over the B23F)is anyway. Then you can plan for adding a turbo, or building up a proper turbo motor!

See you saturday!

It looked great, a trusty 245, (not rusty), wished I wasn't painting the fence and had more time to poke around in the cars that were here last weekend, did you scrounge from the junk pile out back

yeah i picked up that GT front spoiler and a 14 inch wheel as a spare for the ride home. The spoiler will be painted to match the car and mounted within days, thanks for being so hospitable as well.

Nice work on getting the wagon on the road! It's coming together just fine and with that
K cam you'll have good power jump.

Enjoy the road,

LOL! You need to drop that thing.

This picture makes it look like it is a Jeep 4x4...

I do agree that the car looks nice without the lumps in the back but only if they expose a wide sporty tire and you shouldn't be able to see much of it vertically

Right now it looks like 3/4 of your rear tire is showing from the back, if you made it 1/4 it would look dope!

Did you sand it after/during spraying? At least wetsand it with 400 paper... And if you want it to look even better: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showpost.php?p=335267&postcount=32
