was reading one of the MS threads the other day and noticed that people were having problems with their afterstart enrich coming on over and over again. I also noticed that most of us are not running any idle controls... This causes a LOW and lopey idle as Doug and others have pointed out. These dips in rpm are actually what is triggering the afterstart enrichment!!!! Hope this helps out some of Ya'll confused about why its happening.
Good luck!!!

CRANKING RPM
The Cranking RPM value lets the MegaSquirt know when the engine is cranking or when it is running. A good starting point would be 300 as most engines crank around 200 RPM; the rule of thumb being about 100 RPM higher than your actual cranking RPM. Do not set this too high because if your RPM dips due to a low idle or a slight stall it will make the MegaSquirt think it is cranking and also reinitiate the afterstart enrichment period. Set it too low and it will try and use the VE table for crank pulsewidths instead of the Cranking/Priming PW Table, which is not good either.

I thought you lived down near San Diego???
I'm right between the 5 and the 210 sunland exits, shadow hills actually.. That would be sweet if you wanted to roll by... Right now my 244 is in a shambles but its coming together slowly for the $200 craigslist beater it was...

This got taken care of quite a while ago, with MSnS-Extra. It's informally called the "Rock Crawler mod", where now the cranking RPM is only one-way. Until the RPM climbs above the cranking RPM, MS calculates fuel based on the cranking pulsewidths. Once it crosses the cranking RPM, even if it drops below it again, it's using the VE table. The engine has to actually shut off for half a second before it'll reset and go back into cranking/ASE mode.
As for the Kiri/Doug/other Doug garbage, I'm throughly :???:
