I had to steal my stock 240 O2 sensor from my MS project for my '86 240 daily driver, now I need to replace it to finish my install. I can use a stock NB for $40, or it seems the LC-1 Wideband Controller from Innovate Motorsports is the way to go for a WB ($200), so which way do I want to go?

My project is '65 122 with a rebuilt (bored out) '79 B21F (from a GT, so maybe a slight performance cam). Ran great with a carb setup, but now installing EFI w/MS. Not a performance project, more like a can-I-do-it project.

Looking at the posts, it seems the WB is needed to tune MS better, but it seems that the WB is turned off and it emulates a NB during normal operations??? I don't mind spending the $$ if I get a better running setup, but is it worth it???

How is the LC-1 setup hooked up to MS? Is there a discussion on hooking it up on the MS site?

Absolutely. Other than dyno time, there is no other way you will ever get the car safely tuned.

Almost got it. The wideband is never off. it always reads the way it reads. You simply program it to put out the signal you want. The choice is yours. You can emulate a narrowband and output a wideband signal with an LM-1. I don't know about the LC-1. You need to look at the Innovate website for more details.

Yes, yes and yes. Did I say absofreakinlutely yes it is worth it?

You just take the output signal and connect it to your O2 signal wire for MS. If you output the wideband signal you will have to make sure MS and Megatune know what to look for. I could explain that, but I haven't got time. Check www.msefi.com for more info. I just had to do it myself last night.

Gonna be some wideband tuning tonight :badboy:

Get one, if you have the $$ then get one now. Actually use the NB to tune for a couple weeks, then get the WB & you'll realise just how worthwhile the purchase was :-D

Thanks for the info! Is the LC-1 Wideband Controller from Innovate Motorsports the best WB for the buck?

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions on how to tune my MS.

A lot of guys have the Tech Edge 2A0 unit http://wbo2.com/ It's available as a kit for guys who like soldering fumes or pinching pennies. They have other units and kits available. Prices are in OZ$, and shipping takes a week or three to the US.

I like my TE unit very much, and have had great communication from them.

Any WB you buy will be the best $ you spend.
