I have not got a MSnS-E unit yet, but I have been thinking about it for a while now.
I really want one to gain 100% control over my engine.

When I will finally come around and buy a MS, I want to be prepared.
I have read up on a lot of MS stuff, and I have the nessecary programs installed on my computer fo play around with. Itīs really interesting.

I get how to tune the fuel-part of it all, but what about spark?

What is the correct procedure to tune spark (and also to tune fuel)?
When I start off by tuning fuel, what values should I use on the spark-map while getting the fuel right?
And when I have got the fuel right, how do I get the spark table right?
And when I get both of them to work descent, how do I play around with it to get the max amount of power/functionality?

Itīs probably a question that requires a long answer... sorry if my questions sound a little bit silly but I would like to get it right and donīt screw it up by trying until something gives...

Thanx!

And I also wonder what will happen to my ECC and things like that when I replace the EZK/LH2.4 with a MS?

Yes that does require a long answer. If you want to do the fuel right you NEEEEEEED a wideband. First you just want to get the car running and moving, the stock maps "should" do that. Start by getting rid of any pinging or hesitation by richening/leaning until the wideband reads happy, and/or retarding/advancing the timing. When it doesn't ping ANYWHERE and drives half decently then start tuning the fuel first. At idle my car likes 13.5 AFR. Off boost cruising you want about 15 AFR. 100kpa about 14.0. 150kpa 13.0. Anything above that you want between 12-13.

Then when that is good work on the ignition. Off boost mid RPM's you can usually go as high as 50*, then in boost you've gotta yank it back so it doesn't start pinging like crazy. Say you're tuning the whole 200kpa (~15psi) line all the way up the rev range. Right when you hit full boost at around 2500rpm it has a tendancy to ping hard if you don't pull timing, something like 15* should work. Then as the RPM's go up you can increase the advance a few points every RPM bin till redline. The best you can do on the street is to advance till it pings then back off a point or two. Or just do it by feel till you get the most power.

use a dyno...a tuning dyno that can put the car under a variable load...get your afrs right and then advance the timimg untill it pings or starts to loose power...that is my theory...to tune spark you will need a good man running the dyno
