The link is to some pics of my Volvo. I have had this car for 6 months, but the canadian winter did not allow me to paint it until now. I had seen this car sitting in a back yard next to where I was dropping my brother off for music lessons. The body was in good shape except for some minor rust and oxidized paint but the fron tdriver corner was smacked up. I talked to the lady, who owned two other volvos, but she said that the car was her sons. I left my number and I had completely forgotten about the car until I got a call about five months later saying her son would sell it. I negotiated the price to $700 CDN (about $500 US) and towed the car home. When I started checking it out I realized the it was a pretty rare car. It is an `83, but it has an intercooler (dealer installed), a rubber rear antenna, rear headrests the early style EURO front (two bulb headlights) power windows and locks, A/C, these really cool snakelights for front maplights, power trunk and GOLD virgos with a body coloured stripe down each spoke. I had to ditch trhe euro headlights because I can`t find a driver side early euro light anywhere for a reasonable price. I had the two round headlights for a while, but I decided to change to the four square lights from my donor car (My 81 245 in the background of somew of the pics) I lucked out at the JY and found some rare pieces like a drivers side reverse lens and some relatively decent clear corner markers. At any rate the new color is Charcoal Metallic even though it looks black in the pics. It turned out much darker than I wanted. I did all of the body work my self and painted in my friends shop with an HVLP gun. I figure I have spent about 150 hours and only about $500 CDN for all of the parts and supplies including the paint, but it is satisfying knowing that I did a pretty nice paint job myself.

Looking very sharp!!

For 700 i don't think you went wrong. How many km's are on it? Interior looks great to.

You said your drivers side front euro light was toast, is the right one still in ok condition? My right side recieved a rock chip, still works fine but the inside is rusting, and becoming ugly. I've been looking for another since... so if your looking to get rid of it, can gain some cash let me know :-)

Keep up the sweet brick man!

Those foglights are pretty ugly, but otherwise, I think it looks pretty good!

thats a pretty awesome paint job for a do-it-your-self job. It's odd your car comes with a whaling boat wheel considering it is an 83 turbo. weird.

The lady I bought it off of had this weird steering wheel fetish or something. She liked the wheel from her sons old turbo car so one of the conditions of sale was to switch the wheel that was in it to her 84 DL. Iswitched the big wheel out and I have the turbo center cap. she has the center cap from my old GLT. I have the passenger side old style euro light and the bezel and backing plate if you want it speedw240. It is still in perfect shape. Email me at cad472guy@hotmail.com and I can send you some pics. The crappy part is I added the ugly fog lights to make up for the crappy lighting from the two round headlights. now I can once again bask in the blinding rays of the 4 light front

Haha, that's funny. Chris (242GTMD) had a similar problem when he bought his GT. Maybe he'll tell the story. I"ve heard it before and it still cracks me up.

Why not just upgrade the round lights? You can get a lot of good light from the right bulb.

rbalt10129, I wonder how much thrust that roof carrier can handle? just think, when the rice boys try to pass, you could light off a solid rocket or small turbofan hidden in the luggage carrier, and take the 245 up to 250MPH...
Seriously, the ride height is perfect. I wanted that look, but I haul alot of engine parts, so I compromised on the drop. And I just have 15" 86 760 turbo wheels with no covers- ghetto bling.
