The link is to some pics of my Volvo. I have had this car for 6 months, but the canadian winter did not allow me to paint it until now. I had seen this car sitting in a back yard next to where I was dropping my brother off for music lessons. The body was in good shape except for some minor rust and oxidized paint but the fron tdriver corner was smacked up. I talked to the lady, who owned two other volvos, but she said that the car was her sons. I left my number and I had completely forgotten about the car until I got a call about five months later saying her son would sell it. I negotiated the price to $700 CDN (about $500 US) and towed the car home. When I started checking it out I realized the it was a pretty rare car. It is an `83, but it has an intercooler (dealer installed), a rubber rear antenna, rear headrests the early style EURO front (two bulb headlights) power windows and locks, A/C, these really cool snakelights for front maplights, power trunk and GOLD virgos with a body coloured stripe down each spoke. I had to ditch trhe euro headlights because I can`t find a driver side early euro light anywhere for a reasonable price. I had the two round headlights for a while, but I decided to change to the four square lights from my donor car (My 81 245 in the background of somew of the pics) I lucked out at the JY and found some rare pieces like a drivers side reverse lens and some relatively decent clear corner markers. At any rate the new color is Charcoal Metallic even though it looks black in the pics. It turned out much darker than I wanted. I did all of the body work my self and painted in my friends shop with an HVLP gun. I figure I have spent about 150 hours and only about $500 CDN for all of the parts and supplies including the paint, but it is satisfying knowing that I did a pretty nice paint job myself.
