I had to change my headlight glass as a stone smashed the last one. Rupert and myself decided to make a few changes while we were at it. Before we start, big thanks to Rupert for his time and help. I owe you (another one :-P )

Looking good, I did a similar thing on my 760 with the grille, with a chrome surround from the 760 grille, but the eggcrate black centre from a turbo grille. Gives the car a genuine luxury-yet-turbo look.

Nice car! I love the spoiler, and the tint looks nice, too. Where'd ya get it?
...Spoiler doesn't seem stock, yet still very tasteful.

I have a 740 turbo grille like that one (chrome bordered eggcrate) if anyone wants it for ~$30-40

spoiler came off a 760 i think. Rupert (v6 man) sourced it for me. The tint is the same on all the 700 turbos i think.

Looks like you wired the signals as daytime running lights.
Not only did you paint the trim, you painted the bottom of the signal housing [EDIT-already mentioned, ignore]
Also appears that you pushed the fogs away from the center of the grill more, but one pic is more up close than the other, so may be a photo playing a trick.
Got moose sticker...

The sticker is quite old now. been a few months. the other lights haven't been touched but i see what you mean in the pic.

Center caps look to be missing the volvo decal, but seems like the sun blocking in some pics.
1stRaven
08-30-2005, 04:23 AM
It is the sun blocking the caps and that emblem.
The one thing that peeps have missed is that we also painted the trim underneath the headlights. Its now silver rather than the plastic grey. Its hard to see on these pics.

That trim under the lights is silver from factory on Australian 700 series, except mine, which was silver, then painted white after smash repairs, then black by the previous owner. The black and white is chipped and flaking, and it looks shocking.
US quad square lights will replace the whole ugly mess soon :)
MikeHardy

why the hell would you goto US quads, don't you like seeing in the dark. or you better have some heavly upgraded lights in those

Mine was silver. It was just scratched to hell and the plastic was showing. The paint has sorted them out quite well.

I'll put the Hella inserts from my 242 into them, they're fitted with a pair of 55/130w H4's, and a pair of 100w H1's. 460w of high beam should be sufficient. Brighter than any E code light I've seen to date. Brighter than any other headlight I've seen for that matter :-P

Ok, the full list of mods done yesterday is;
Drilled airbox.
Rear spoiler.
Remove headlight wipers.
Paint bottom of indicator clusters, trim piece under lights and grille surround the same colour as the car.
Assist in the continued disintegration of the headling by driving fast with the rear windows open!
We also cleaned the PCV system and fitted a new headlight glass.
