Am I the only one who thinks this car is hot as hell?

I'm talkin DAMN, son! This is the same color as the pristine looking 244 that's just around the corner from my house. I wonder how much money they'd take to be liberated from their old Volvo. DAMN!

BTW I found this trying to find that blue 245 that had the titans on it. It was at a car meet and I'm pretty sure it was in Sweden. No idea where the pic came from, but the car was surrounded by other cars. It looked like it had light blue metallic paint (original) and the wheels were about the only exterior mod, but I'm pretty sure it had a whiteblock swap.

I heart volans! Yes that car does look sweet.

IMO most 240's can look pretty sweet with a simple wheel upgrade (17") and lowering.

That car, towerys car, noahs car.. all pretty good examples of basic body with wheels!

I think what really ties it together - aside from that flawless yellow - is the lower trim ringing the sides and rear is still black. Usually its gray on the 86+ cars, which also works nicely, but when it's black that's just nuts. But yes, the yellow is the main reason I'd buy it.

Just like with Geoff's 244, that thing is totally brought to "done" level with just the Volans. The yellow accenting on the front end helps too.

Yes, it looks like a bee with all the yellow and black. Reminds me of the Dodge Super Bee.

The far easier solution would be to sell me your car.

There are probably 5,000 of those between here and Washington. I'm gonna guess there are maybe 500 yellow 244s between here and there, max.

My parents bought a new yellow 242 DL back in '79. That car got attention :) . My sister got to drive it, but sadly it died when I was in 8th grade. Too much rust.
It was a darker yellow though, like this:

So would you actually replicate anything/everything from that car?

painted mirrors, grille rim, front spoiler, lower side trim, headlight trim
black: turbo/'92 door trim, bumper trim, rain gutter trim, front/rear windscreen trim
clear taillights
volans/tires/adapters
side markers
e-codes
giant exhaust tip

I think it's a fine idea.

Two or three yellow ones in the JY here, 1 or 2 are 245 [one may be white, hence 2 or 3], and a 244.

I almost got a free rusty '79 245 in that color with quad rounds, although the insurance for it woulda sucked and it needed alot of work.

You sure make a couple of spray cans, a set of wheels, an exhaust tip, and some lights seem like a lot more daunting than it is. But I guess if I did those "my way" they'd all catch fire and fall off somehow, right Mike?

...about that black trim, Is there any place to buy it "new"? I've hated that crome stuff since I got the car, Does anyone have any extra black trim laying around? window, doors, bumper trim? On a side note, my sister's 91 244 has the thin black trim, maybe the dealers still stock it?

the dealer still stocks black trim but they want somewhere around 300 dollars for a complete set. Your just best off either painting the trim with some flat black paint or going to the junkyard and collecting bits and pieces of black trim that is in good shape until you have a complete set.
