My dad has one, but he's put a bit of work into it. It's a blast to drive, and it definitly turns heads.

That's really nice. I love the later 1800s with virgos. I assume it's all stock? (apart from the wheels, I mean.)

/me steals and runs away, then puts monster-ass turbo on it

:-D

Veeery nice. That looks awesome on Virgos, although they'd look even sweeter if the centre recessed area on each spoke was chrome!

truly a lovely classic...I'm a sucker for old stuff (I have a 1966 camper bus and a 1960 vw euro spec beetle)...but the wheels don't do it justice. Find some period wheels and it'll be spot on bro!

Yeah! Lovely car!

Did the 71's have the b20 badge in the grille? Hm, or is it a 1970 with trans conv. m410-> m41.

I was thinking about getting Torque Trust D's for my ES, but the light colored virgos looked nice on this one.

Torq thrust is my favorite wheel for the old school.

CA black/yellow plates but D-jet and updated axles ... what year is it anyways?

It's all original. In 1970 when the P1800 got four wheel disk brakes it also received the wheel bolt pattern of the 140/160 series. Thus making Virgos bolt on.

Beautiful ride, Theresa and Doug! Thanks for sharing so many nice photos of it!

That thing is insane condition!(that means perfect) "Restore it" hahahaha, funny guy you are. So what year IS it anyway? '70 or '71?

And, I'm trying to figure out what tires/wheels Super1800GTR can play with on his soon to be Supercharghed b20... Are those 205/60s on there? About how much space do you think you have on either side of the tires at their widest point before they rub on something? In the front and in the back? Could you possibly take a look see for us?

I have the OEM wheels, but when I had 16virgos and most had new tires, I put them on there to restore the original wheels.

T's actually had the car for like 3 years now, I dont know why I never had pictures of it.

Hows it handle? Like a 30 year old boat  Its all stock everywhere so it could use bushings, shocks and sways. Its fun to drive though!

Its a 70, so everything dave said is exactly right. Black plates should still be right for a 70, I dont think they went blue till the mid to late 70's (I know my 69 firebird had black plates on it).

The paint is far from perfect (the only real detraction on the car), but its not bad at all considering the age. I think with a nice paint job (and a little bit of body work) and yank the motor to clean it up it'd pass for a very nice car. :D

you don't know what a "shooting brake" is?

it's an old term for station wagon, generally used to describe a high-end sportscar that has been converted into a wagon by a coachbuilder. Here's a picture of one:
http://www.pestalozzi.net/sb/am_vantage/vantage_420.jpg
there are more examples here:
http://www.pestalozzi.net/sb/a_index.html
shooting brakes have been around for a long time, the ES was basically one from the factory

Now how about making the SEMA 242 a 242 shooting brake?, that could be awesome (with a rear end that's a cross between an ES and a 240 rear end)

I think the ladies dig old volvo's. Had a few compliments and a few broken hearts when I said it was my gf's.... so what if they were 60 year old pirate hookers with peg legs, a compliment is a compliment right?
