I'll be smokin' up ONE tire at least. No power and open diff should make for interesting drifting.

you can borrow my homemade slicks if you want less traction

Double up your rear bars, unhook your front bar, and use speed to break the rear loose.
Or, you could take tomorrow off and we can put in a welded rear.

Just found out I don't have to work on Saturday so I'll be there. Sounds like fun, maybe I can remember my camera ...

Sounds like fun, but that won't be necessary.

Right now I'm running the same size tires front and rear, but with softer ones up front. If I brake late and hard into a corner, the car will oversteer easily, and spin if I don't let up. I've got my oversteer.

On sunday, I'll be using 225/50/15 tires on the front that are even softer than the 205's on now. I'll have a hard time NOT spinning. :-D I did one autocross with the big tires up front, and it proved to be a useless combination for that type of driving, but I seem to recall being sideways for most of the 180° sweeper at the back of the course, so I think it will work out nicely.

This was a really cool event. I think everyone enjoyed the Volvos tearing it up, and the starter was even happy to see something other than a 240SX.
 Rob did really well, and I had a few good moments. The course was sort of an oval with the longer sides pushed inward to create two left corners along with the two right sweepers at either end. Both sweepers were downhill/off camber, so it wasn't hard to get sideways, but with an open diff it was hard to stay sideways for long.

Pics and vid coming soon, I hope.

PS: bring lots o' tires to shred!

That was a really cool event, very nice 240's! I'm glad I drove the S70 instead of my 240! Mine looks like a turd compared to all you guys' cars, damn!

Not much volvo coverage so far, but I know there are more pictures and video clips out there.

A few quotes I found amusing, likely about Rob specifically:

[quote:2596eab6e7]just returned and holy crap i would have never believed that a volvo could drift until this afternoon.[/quote:2596eab6e7]
[quote:2596eab6e7]And to the one dude in the volvo, rock on, nice to see people using cars that are a little different from the norm to say the least.[/quote:2596eab6e7]
[quote:2596eab6e7]The older gentleman in the Volvo drove the piss out of that car. He definitely got a thumbs up from me.[/quote:2596eab6e7] "older gentleman"
[quote:2596eab6e7]i did forget to mention the bmw and volvo guys who were impresive.[/quote:2596eab6e7]
