Winter Photo Contest - 1/4/03 *CLOSED*

Its that time again, the next photocontest is ready to roll. This is for the image on the front page of our site (great publicity!). The submissions will be voted on by this rounds judges: Garrett, Matt D., and JB none of whom will be submitting an image of their own.

Here are the rules:

[*:4eb41a9ffa]All submissions must be at least 640x480 in size
[*:4eb41a9ffa]You must be either the owner of the car when the picture was taken, or the photographer in order to qualify.
[*:4eb41a9ffa]One photo per subject (i.e. we don't want 20 photos of your 740,
however a photo of your 740 and one of your 240 is ok)

Any questions should be posted below. Winners will be announced on
Saturday January 4th (evening). All submissions will be added to the general site gallery as well.

Hmmm. That could make for an interesting picture... find some way to make my car look good up on jackstands in my garage. Heh.

Is color preferred or can I submit B&W?

B&W tip for newbies: yellow lens filters on b&w film increases contrast and can make bland pictures look like you spent a few hours in the dark room

Anyone have some links to online photography tutorials that might help increase the level of quality for those who arent amature photographers?

another tip.. heh... get a nice ass nikromat Nikon camera... and have some nice lenses to go with it.. or just steal your dads stuff... :roll:

Tip #2: a yellow filter will require about 1 stop more exposure, and it will make blue subjects darker. It does great things to a cloudy sky.

Can I enter a photo of another make of car, or rather what I did to it?? I just took a great one. (Manufacturer is irrelevant, the car is damaged, showing how other makes tend to crumple a little too easily :)

as much as we all like other cool cars, i would recommend that we stick to displaying volvos on our site.
