Don't know if this is of real interest but I've just done about 2000 miles on a new set of uprated and lowered shocks and springs from a company here in the UK called SPAX. They've been around for ages and didn't seem too bothered by my request.
I fitted them to my 245 GLT estate and I reckon they're the business. 28 point adjustable for ride quality, 0 being OE and 28 being kidney coughing hard. Powder coated for longevity, the welding is immaculate and the quality's top, only trouble is they've highlighted the other suspension weaknesses...
Anyway, if anybody is interested have a look at www.spaxperformance.com (or co.uk?). They've got dealers all over the world.

Cheers

theres been some talk about spax before, however i dont think anyone has invested in a set that i know of. Sounds like they're worth a look, adjustable suspension you mean you got coilovers for your car? or just adjustable shocks.... and normal lowering springs. i'd be very interested if they made a coilover set for 240's

Why is it that everyone does shocks and springs for the 940 from 1990 to 1994. I have a 1996 and it pisses me off that no one makes shocks for them (bilstein, koni or SPAX). Will shocks for a 1994 940 fit on my 1996 940, are there any differences??? :???:

Nope, none of the IRS or novomat crap getting in the way of a good setup :-P Just e-mailed SCT-tuning about their shocks, as all of their products are grouped by the car, in PDF file format, so anything on the 940S 2.3 (LPT) pdf file should fit (LPT came in 1996-8). They are offering a chassikit (as they call it) with 4 billys and 4 lowering springs (40mm) for £350, so $500 + VAT and shipping, and I know that they should fit.
They also have a 3" downpipe and 3"cat for £550.

Sorry, they're adjustable for ride quality not height, so standard replacement fitment with lowered and uprated springs. I've gone for saloon rear springs as I've lost so much weight out of the car. They've just started doing an entry level coilover kit across the board suitable for track days and fast road that is £100 per corner plus 17.5%Vat in the UK. They look pretty sweet too... I guess as they supplied me they know the fitment for a 2 series so maybe they'll do 'em?
As far as retail goes, I have another confession, I'm in the trade so I got them cheaper than the retail price. Which I think is about £300-400 Uk... I think. I've had lots of suspension kits in the past, and settled on SPAX a few years ago as they changed ownership and the quality got a lot better. I could rabbit on about how chuffed I am but I'd just sound anal...
