trigger angle and VE tables (two unrelated questions)

So I'm running a trigger angle of 60 that I never ever messed with and have no problems :e-shrug:

my question is: if MSnS-e says the spark is advanced 14 degrees at idle and so does my timing light, does that mean that my trigger angle is "correct"



and

my other question is does anybody who is running greentops with a few upgrades (cam, intercooler, exhaust) have a VE table they want to share? longshot i know....

1.) yes. edit: as long as you aren't getting spark crossover at higher rpms (the spark jumps from the rotor to the wrong button)

2.) My VE is a little off right now as I'm in the process of re-doing it. I'll try to remember to post it once it's fine-tuned.

Well, it does run a little rough at some low KPA high rpm points but it has no problem during decel at 0 throttle and high rpms (which is the highest advance on my table, around 40)... so i think i'm probably cool.... and hey, if you think your VE table is rough, i don't even have a wideband yet

sounds good to me, my trigger angle was 61 so its a good chance that you could just have 60 and be dead on...

as long as the light and the megasquirt read the same i say drive it.

Do you have a WB? If you do, run Jay's VexME, that thing will work out your VE table in a jiffy. Otherwise, I can upload/email mine later today. It's constantly a work in progress. FYI, timing and fuel go hand in hand, so running someone else's fuel map with your timing map may produce odd results.

On the TA - If you look back through a post titled "hot start gremlins" I think you can find my TA setting drama and results. The short answer is if it works, and others are running similar numbers, then you're probably okay. Just make sure you can run a full range of timing without crossfire, as Ben said. Mine used to top out at 37ish, but now does fine 10-63*

my map is much improved since i made this thread... i can't promise anything though...

you should try to learn how to use mstweak 3000.. its cool
