Alright this is the most beautiful 240 I have seen to date. does anyone know what body kit it has, or is it all custom? Are there even 240 body kits for sale?

Very impressive!

There are kits on the internet...

That's a beautiful kit. I'd love to see that imported to the US. I like the front valance and sideskirts of the Brickstylz kit, but the rear valance could use some de-squaring.

I like it so much because it's not overkill...i'm gonna start saving money now.
Wish me good luck. How much is it anyway to get a kit like this custom at a shop?

That is the best looking body kit for a 240 I have ever seen. EVER. If somebody ever had the inclination to mass produce something like that I do not doubt that it would sell incredibly well

that kit makes me want to get a 244 for a dd car. With a leather interior and a woodgrain dash, you could easily have something that is like a swedish bentley both inside and out. That thing is beautiful, just beautiful. I want one...

I recently got access to a welding shop and I was wondering if I can make a body kit out of metal. alumnium(sp) or sheet metal?:badboy: Then my brick would really turn out to be a tank.;-)

Im just wondering.

That is incredible looking. I agree about the coffin hood too. I think the flathood tends to almost be overdone on really tricked out 240s. I would love to get together a group buy on a carbon fiber coffin hood once I get started on my 240 again.

Okay okay.. So everybody has pictures of all these amazing kits/cars.. but who actually knows of someone who has one or made one, are they availible for purchase? or is there a specific way of making these without spending crazy amount of cash... I would love to know where to get one.. but if it isn't posible is there anyone out there that knows of a sort of tutorial to show you how to mod one to fit your car? Or even a list of cars where theyre kits will fit or are easily modded to fit 240's.. lol anyone out there?!

Holy crap. is that the plug or the first one out of the mold?!

Captain Bondo
10-20-2005, 05:21 PM
Da Plug. The polished pic of it in dark grey was about 2 hours before I layed up the mold. The mold is done and just needs another wetsand/polish/wax and I can start making copies.
I just have nowhere to lay up large amounts of stanky-ass fiberglass right now.

I'm considering using epoxy because I could do that in that garage where I'm living right now, but epoxy is waaay more expensive.

I'm going to have to see how this mold works out, it's essentially one piece with an "end cap" on each end where the fenderlip creates a negative draft. I've learned a bunch of new tricks and am thinking I might make a new multipiece mold that produces a nice "rolled edge". It'll be a ton of work but the final product will be easier to trim, and it'll be easier to make carbon fiber ones if I feel so inclined and/or a bunch of tbrickers win the lottery. lol.
My personal one will be carbon fo sho'- with a different opening fo' da front mountizzle.

im really like the looks of my brick stylz kit front didnt fit good but with alo of work it fits great now. sideskirts fit great im just not to fond of the rear of the bodykit, the sides look sweet but the rear where the exhaust tip comes out is square and ugly, captin bondo are ya making a bodykit for the rear? maybe i can mix and mathc my brickstyls one because i love the way the front of my car looks, i just wish i was happy with the rear.

This is gonna happen- the weather is just starting to get nice enough for me to be able to finish it all up. Fiberglass and epoxy and bondo absolutely hate cold, damp weather, and keeping my shop warm/dry enough to do it is rediculously expensive. Not to mention I worked two jobs all winter.

But, hopefully I will have a sellable complete kit sometime this summer. And yes, a rear skirt is also in the works. Maybe if I sell some I'll be able to afford a better shop or heating next year!:-P:rofl:

Well, the goal is to have my car done middle of August, and I sure as hell want a complete kit on my car, so yeah, end of August would be a good deadline. (I should probably start a project thread, but believe it or not it feels a little too narcissist/myspace/facebook/whore out the car to me. When the diff is done I will break down and do it though.)

Expect cost for a complete kit to be in the $800 range. Real materials. One piece bumper. No bondo. No bull****. It'll need a little sanding on some edges so that it fits your specific body panels, and then you scuff it and paint it. That's it. I would rather gouge my face with a rusty spoon than produce something that is not done right.

I might put another year on finishing the car but I think it will be really worth it. Look forward to the build thread on the rest. If you could also post in here when you start it so no one gets lost. :P
