Definately NOT. I don't think those wheels ever thought they'd be mounted to a Volvo. Just my opinion though...

Turbobricks Rule #1, if everyone hates it, it's perfect.
I like them, I say go for it.
Can't lie guys, I like chrome. and frankly I think the fact that almost all of you hate it, with no exceptions, is flat out pathetic. seriously.

the white rim around them... white wall tires or really bright chrome? they'd look better w/o it. I don't think they're ugly just not my cup o' tea. go for it if ya like em.

that is chrome on the lip.not whte wlls. i was thinkin 17s. it also has chrome "rivets" on the inside of the wheel. heres a closer look http://www.pbase.com/rockindawagon/image/50332189
edit: after i looked again, it is a machined lip

maybe its just in the pics, but that chrome lip looks too much like white and less shiney chrome. i usually like a chrome lip on black wheels.

If the chrome is more chrome than in the pic, then they are alright wheels. Something I'd expect to see as 20 inchers on a silver SLR or benz, if you lowered the car and changed the paint, maybe it'd look better... I dunno, I like the wheels, just not on that car.

my opinion, remember this is just what I stink. I dont like them at all.. maybe if you had an XC90 they'd look good in 20x11'' but not any 1/2/7/9 series

If it wasnt for the wide chrome lip I'd love them. They really blend well but that lip just jumps out and screams at you in an angry mother-in-law sort of way...Any way of dulling or painting it so it matches the rest?
Want dark?? I think these would look Super Gucci

I've wanted to do all black on my wagon before, but it would not look right. My opinion is there needs to be an obvious break between tire and wheel, otherwise it looks like a steelie :-P
Someone needs to photoshop them.
It is a machined lip, not chrome.

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, people were entitled to their opinions without being criticized.
Funny, you'd think a bunch of Volvo loving freaks would be more accepting about eachother's opinions and, agree or disagree, say so in a more pleasant manner.
Then again...I lead a delusional life.

I'm with chigga on this. Black with machined lips on black car's are awesome!

As the resident tbrick black sheep I vote yes to those rims. I do warn you though that once they are on everyone will jump on you to lower it. Go springs and shocks and struts while you're at it or look for that in the near future. 17's with tight low suspension is "for teh win" (that is for you internet addicted .....).
If I cared what other people thought about my opinion I never would have built a car that I look out the window at work at and drool about.

They could be the biznass if the car was the right height.
And if they were the right offset to sit nice and flush.

hey, wait, I didn't call any actual people pathetic for not liking them. don't be putting words in my mouth now... I called the general "OMFG CHROME = BAD" attitude around here pathetic. :-P
there IS such a thing as tasteful chrome, and I don't see anything wrong with the wheels he wants. it's not like they're spinners, and it's not like he's getting a fart pipe, ugly body kit, and a park bench wing to go with them.
edit:// as for 'the majority' you speak of, well, what chigga said, and prehaps that majority just has closed ass minds. seems to be a bit typical of turbobricks, as there is a lot of "OMFG EVERYTHING BUT VOLVOS = BAD" stench around here too.
with that said, end of discussion, and sorry for derailing the thread.

*cough* lol oo is that my car? Anyhow I agree completely. I warn people who lean towards the aftermarket that here on turbobricks if it's not factory volvo you'll probably get flamed. Oh and if the wing's not a non-functional trans am wing with rounded ends (matches a square 740's lines how) it'll get flamed.
Do what you want. If you love it then it's right.

i agree. i do like volvos styling, and there is a long list of wheels that i could go with that would look awesome. but there is after market. i dont wanna have the same car everyone else does, and thats hard to do with stock accessories seeing as how pretty much every one is doin it that way. i have a set of volans that i might still put on, but ive already seen numerous cars with them. they look good (which is why i bought them in the first place), but i want somethin different. plus the fact that i can sell those USED, and almost have enough to buy the other wheels NEW. VOLVO ORIGINAL=expensive

19x8.5 and 19x10. These can be had for around $800 shipped. Tires need to be 215/35/19 and 245/35/19 to work. And they are Ferrari replicas by Modular Wheels of Italy.

i was lookin at those too, but im pretty broke, so those are a little pricey for me. plus the fact that i already ahve two sets of 17' tires, so that intices me to get 17's. i might still try to sell the whole lot of tires and wheels, and get somethin like those tho. we'll see what my financial future has in store for me.
