Hey guys. Everytime i hook megasquirt up to the laptop and try running megatune i get this error.

"controller code does not match signature in Megasquirt-I.ini.
(see audit.log for where the above was not found.)

Expected: "0x14"
Recieved: ""

Table corruption may occur, This is a very serious problem.

Terminate megatune now?

Yes/No"

When i click yes...no megatune

when i click no. I get megatune and i can get the readings from the car like TPS coolant them and stuff and when i crank it reads it and what not. But when i try to set the constants or anything at all it will say could not connect to controller. and then all the readings go away and i loose connection to the controller.

If you guys could help me out that would be great! im super excited about MS and i just finished installing it this morning.

Thanks guys

Your MS controller and Megatune have different code versions.

Exactly. What versions of the program and the code are you running? Have you flashed a code onto the controller yet? I think this will get you started if you have no idea what I'm talking about:
http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/setup.html

When I first setup MS I had the same problems, I was doing MSnS but the MS fuel only code was still on the controller so it didn't even know what spark was! Then Kenny kicked me in the ass and set things straight.

In one of the files you downloaded there should be a little program that will automatically copy and paste the code version stuff into the correct directories. I don't remember what it is called because I don't use it unfortunately.

Yeah, in the newer "extra" files (like 022e4 and up I'm sure) it's called download-firmware.bat. Works great, I used it all the time. Clicking it opens a command prompt and it gives you simple instructions that basically consist of pressing the any key a few times.

Ok so i got the firmware on the box and can connect great and all. using megatune 2.25b710 on my v3 board with megasquirt_v3000.s19 firmware.

So now i cant get the car to start. Ive wired everything up correctly im almost 100% positive

heres what ive checked.

-I get spark, had someone pull the plug and hold near ground
-Fuel pumps prime and when i crank it comes on also
*MS restarts sometimes when battery voltage drops down too low
-both fuel pump, injectors and MS get constant power even when cranking.

What ive discovered-
Ive narrowed it down to my injectors. or thats atleast what i think is the problem.

I had it first wired up like this:

pin 32,33 going to injectors 1,2
pin 34,35 going to injectors 3,4

12v running to center wire on resistor pack. exiting wires from resistor pack going to injectors.

I tried:

wiring pin 32 to injectors 1,2
wiring pin 34 to injectors 3,4

Still no start.

Heres what ive discovered:

-When i use a 12v testor light grounded to chasis and i touch the "ground wire" going to MS from injectors i get power and the light lights up.
-When i use a 12v testor light grounded to chasis and i touch the "power wire" going to the injectors from the resistor pack it lights up, and also i hear the injector click on.

When i test voltage with a multimeter:

-ground wire going to MS from injector ~11v
-Power wire going to injectors from resistor pack ~11-12v

I am totally confused. from what i thought, MS should ground the injectors and i can supply constant 12v to the injectors through the resistor pack.

I dont know why im getting power from the wire going to MS from injectors. and it doesnt seem like the injectors click on when i crank.

SOOO CONFUSED! I really dont think its my wiring but someone tell me im wrong? thanks guys!

Yeah your injectors sound messed up. You're right, you give them a switched 12v and MS grounds them out. When I flick on MS I can easily hear all 4 injectors click once for the priming pulse.

Also, with low battery power and ESPECIALLY when it's so low that the MS keeps shutting off, it'll never start. I've been having a ton of charging probems over the years so I've had this alot. Even if it cranks slowly, MS might not have enough voltage.

Good luck, you're so close!!!

Do you think my injectors are bad? I just dont understand why MS is not grounding the injectors out.

I put 12v to the testor on one side and probed the wires coming from the injector banks and turned the key so that MS got power and the injectors as well and the light didnt come on. which means im not grounding out.

I am also experiencing that the injectors that seem to let the plus power flow right thru them...
then if i probe the pins 32/32/34/35 I hear the injector trip so it is getting a ground thru the tester.
Hard to describe, hard to figure out...

check the total resistance on the injectors, i've had instances where the balast resistors i used made the car do wierd things (including run on 4 out of 6 cylinders, not run at all, and finally run like a champ at a resistance that should have melted a hole in the ms)

I disconnected the hot wire and the ground wire for the ijectors from the Relay board and measured the resistance from one end to the other (thru my wiring, thru the resistor pak and thru the injectors) and got 0,0.

Is this wrong?

Confuserated....
