Quickie Bellingham/Kamloops/Fort Langley breeze

Jan 20: Dale, Viktor, myself, and possibly Athal will be leaving Calgary. We'll be bound for Kamloops, should roll in there early afternoon. We'll be staying the night.

Jan 21: We're heading for John's house, crossing the border, and futzing around with the Bham/Lynden boys for a bit while we pick up the remainder of our parts. We'll cross the border again, and party with whoever has the evening free in Ft. Langley (or possibly Vancouver.)

Jan 22: We head for home, stopping in Kamloops to pick up Derek & his rockin' Firefly.

If you're in and around any of those areas during any of those times, pipe up.

Not too much problem on the way out...but there will be no room on the way back. The whole purpose of this trip is to pick up a boatload of parts Matt and I have been buying up over the last few months...

Thanks to John (The Aspirator) for letting us come over and defile his house some, Dale (245gti) for getting us pizza, and everyone else who came!
My only regret is that I didn't spend as much time BSing with Dale and John this time due to time constraints and didn't spend as much time BSing with Matt (Matt Dupuis) as I wanted, but it was a quickie meet for sure! It was great to see people and share ideas and meet Leivon, who I hadn't met before.
Anyway, John and Leivon's places are quite nice. Canadian country road signs suck, canadian tarmac roads are strange to drive on and oddly reflective at night. Free canadian ferry boats and reflective intersection warning signs are FTW though.
It was also great to see people excited about the monstrocities that should be coming out when winter is over and we meet up in August.

We're home...it was a long day. The roads between Sicamous and Golden were horrible and Derek's 3 cylinder wonder bug just didn't have the oomph to pass when he had some opportunities but better safe than sorry anyways. We got home around 10:30 our time...

It was great to see everyone. Thanks again to John and Meg and to James and his parents in Kamloops for putting us up and being such gracious hosts.

Derek - we haven't heard from you yet. I hope you made it to your destination alright. For a "wonder bug" without oomph, you sure left us once the roads got flat. You sure you're not from the prairies? We were running low on fuel and 120 uses up MUCH more fuel than 110 does, so we kept 'er down.

Viktor - for a guy who pussed out on the drive, you sure have a lot to say... But Dale > Peter Gabriel, though the resemblence IS uncanny.

i could have passed them anytime...i wanted to stay behind them as a guide. driving through roger's pass in january with a car that has ****ty lights and high beams with an exausted driver...

just felt better safe than sorry. in contrast, from canmore to calgary i averaged around 130 and topped out at 143. so it was all good. (also pathetic!)

i've got to give kudos to my car though...she handled like a pro. ran so f-fing good, i got milage i should be getting with that car. but i still want a wagon.

sorry i haven't peeped a word in three days...it's been a ****ing crazy few days!!
