May 18th - Davis, CA - High School Auto Show

The Davis High School auto shop is putting on a car show at Davis High School on May 18th (Thurs).

I'm pretty sure most of the show are gonna be non-volvos, so it'd be nice if someone with a really good lookin' volvo in the area on this day could enter their car.

The number of cars that can be entered is pretty limited, so maybe one or two cars at most could be entered.

The show is free so anyone in the area can come check it out

Davis, CA, btw is where the great big annual volvo meet is, and is actually in the same week (May 21st, Sat.) so anyone coming early can check it out

If anyone is interested, let me know and i'll get more information in the next couple a weeks.

I think the big Davis Meet is Sunday the 21st, actually. Trying to make it this year, if I can make iPd on the 20th (Saturday).

Hmm, might have to keep an eye open. I think my 140 should have a few more goodies on it by then, or at least one or two. :)

yeah, sorry about getting the dates mixed up, i haven't gotten much sleep lately.

Ok, it's on Wed. the 24th, but the car has to be at the High School by 9:00 (directions can be given if needed -- like 4 blocks north of the volvo meeting place)

it'll be hard to get in the show after 9:00 but there might be exceptions.

The local po-po will be there to guard the cars (but not to bust on any illegal modifications)

There will be a BBQ around noon put on by the school and probably refreshments throughout the day

every car that is entered gets a little plaque, and award plaques will be given out for things like best interior, best paint, loudest/best stereo, best looking engine, etc.

I doubt that there will be any cost to enter a car, although the BBQ is a fundraiser so expect to bring some cash.

No offense, but I doubt you'll get much of a turn out on a weekday morning. Move the show to a sat afternoon and you'd increase your turnout by 10x.
