Well if any of you visit the Volvo Speed forums you may have seen this car for sale. I was looking for a 95 945t, but couldn't find one and I saw the posting for this bad boy. Twice as much as I wanted to spend, but it was to clean to pass up. I haven't take pics yet, but I'll post some from the previous owner who was an excellent guy, btw. Also, here is the text from his post:

"I’m the third owner of this Volvo 850 wagon, it’s a great car in wonderful condition but I need to sell it as I have a new job that requires driving long distances so I bought a Mercedes Diesel.

A quick history, car was purchased new from Ventura Volvo in California by an elderly man, I have the original sticker for 40,630 + 1,295 for the chromed Volans. He drove the car for about 4 years and put 36K on it before selling it to a local family in the Santa Barbara area.

The second owner was soccer mom but the dad loved the car and kept good care of it, always garaging it. The only things they did to it was install H&R springs, V70 rear lights, clear corners & euro side markers, he also had the trim painted black. Before I bought it last year at 84,000 miles he had the timing belt changed, the tranny flushed & fluid replaced, and the poly mount replaced.

Third owner is me, I loved the stance of this car when I bought it (still do) and I had no idea of the upgrades these cars were capable of, well I started with the suspension and then just kept going. I planned on having this car for awhile so I replaced a lot of things, here’s the list of everything I’ve done in the last 5K-9K miles.

- Bilstein HD struts/shocks with new strut/shock mounts
- Power slot rotors & PBR pads with fresh synthetic brake fluid
- IPD front sway bar with poly bushings
- Quick brick sway bar links
- Speed Tuning Chip – 17 psi version
- Custom dual-exhaust
- IPD boost gauge
- Magnecor wires
- Denso Iridium plugs with new cap & rotors
- IPD strut bar
- EST Rip kit
- EST intake
- Samco blue coolant hoses
- Both O2 sensors replaced
- Coolant system flushed & replaced
- New thermostat
- New cabin filter
- New oil filler cap & magnetic drain plug

If my wife new how much money I’ve spent on this car she’d beat me to death, I really wanted this wagon to look and drive straight, and I think I’ve accomplished that. On a scale of 1-10 I’d say overall condition is a 9. Maybe the socal meet guys could chime in with a condition report also.

ENGINE – The engine is strong, clean and needs nothing. This car really moves, it starts up nicely, idles find, runs cool – no problems here. The only blemish I can find is a small leak from the turbo-drain seal, but I have one of them waiting for the new owner. I’ve changed the oil with Mobil 1 every 5K miles, as I mentioned before I’ve replaced a ton of stuff so there’s not much that needs attention here.

INTERIOR – Bone stock except for the IPD boost gauge, it has the 815 combo CD/Tape/Radio with 6 CD changer in the rear. It has the dark wood color in great condition, all seats/carpet/mats look good with normal wear. Remember soccer mom was the 2nd owner so its not perfect but its still very-very good, only minor blemishes you would expect for a 9 year old car.

EXTERIOR – again, I’ll say the exterior is a 8.5 out of 10, the paint is real good with minor scratches here and there, I can only find one small door ding, there is a small dent in the rear bumper and the front spoiler has some scratches and that’s about it. Tires and wheels look good, one rim has a small bit of curb rash, all others are nice and clean with no marks – tires are Nexen brand 215x45 series and were replaced when I did the struts & brakes 9K ago.

One thing worth mentioning here is that this car has a history of working with very little problems – it has no history of electrical problems, brake issues, cel’s, nothing- its been a solid car based on the service history and probably will stay that way.

Everything works on this car!
- AC/climate control
- Windows/window switches
- Sunroof
- Heated seats
- All gauges, etc

The only thing that doesn’t work as advertised is that half the lights on the radio don’t work at night and just recently the drivers side door swings all the way open, that sticking point for the door is somehow broken – those are the only two things that don’t work on this car.

EXTRA PARTS- The following parts will come with the car.

IPD rear sway bar
SS brake lines
Tranny cooler
OE bottom radiator hose – (bought after the all of the samco horror stories)
Turbo drain seal/gasket
OE intake

Now for the price – I’d like to see 9,500.00 for this car. I think the price is fair – a ton of new parts on a relatively low mileage 855R wagon in rust free California, you can look all day and not find one that’s been this well maintained with all these new parts – hey, bottom line is the car is ready to go, email me at tobyhammett@adelphia.net – new owner gets a detailed 855 wagon with a fresh oil change and full tank of gas! Thanks guys."

Needless to say, even though I wanted a 945t, I just couldn't pass it up. Now onto selling my 95 944t. I still want a second car, I am thinking a 240 from CL after I sale my 944t. I would like to keep the 944t, but I need to help pay for this new toy.

that is sweeeeeet oh man i'm so envious.

chrome rims look really good on that car too with the black paint, most chromies don't look too nice in my opinion - looks very classy overall with the tint too. score!

Besides FWD, the only thing I don't like is that most of the mods I would do are done so less fun for me. :( Then again, now I don't have any money for mods and won't for awhile. I am loving it so far though. The power compared to my stock 944t is unbelievable. This car is pretty sleek and I like the look the front, though I didn't post any shots of it. Also, I have a folder of the history which is great. All the original stuff, like the owners manual, the brochure, and the sticker. And I thought my 944t seats were the most comfortable I have ever seen, I don't know anymore. Another thing I like, is that the headlights are twice as bright as the dirty plastic lenses on my 944t. It is like having e-codes. I can actually see at night.
