I've had few tires and to be quite honest, I don't really see why some tires costs so siginifcantly more just cause the name, P-zero for one, its not that amazing, I honestly don't see how it's worth 2x price of say Dunlop FM901, which btw, is still my fav.

so I think I'm set on 225/245 set up on my new wheels, possible I might go with the 215/235 route, I have to see clearance first, but basically the profile should be 45/40 or 45/45, since I have 2 sets of 235/45/17 at home.

then I was chatting with my friend, he was telling me about this Hanhook tire, he said that he tried it on his 996 and its amazing for the buck, I was like what? Hanhook? I know they make decent R-compound and cheap daily tires, but great bang for the buck? I was like may be like FM901's kinda stuff, but he said its more like the RT615 style. I don't believe him at first, but I've taken a close look, it seems that Option magazine actually said that they are very affordable MPT (Max Performance Tires), so I'm just wondering what you guys think? ever had anyone use 'em or u r using 'em?

I look at S1 evo, but not many 17" sizes.

I use the reviews available to my advantage...

p-zero's are some of the worst tires i have ever used

i am currently running Sumitomo's, they where inexpensive and carried a great rating. Picked up a full set and could not be happier

I am using Hankook Ventus 104 ZR/YR 215/45 on my 17" Pegasus.

They are really great actually.
Very good performance, and I actually thought that "these tires will wear out quick, īcause thatīs what performance tires do...".
But they didnīt. They have lasted for almost 20000 miles and I still have a good amount of rubber left.

I bought a set of the K106 for the 17" rims for my 122. We'll find out this summer what they're like. $199 for a set of 4...how can you go wrong?

I think both matt and dale got rides in my car back before it was even turbo'd and I had some hankook ventus +4s. got them in '99 and they lasted a good 3 years and lots of miles. I remember matt commenting how impressed he was when i went into a corner waaaaay too fast and the front just gripped. oh, that was near the end of their life, and with stock springs, turbo asb's and boge turbo gas shocks. Hankook kind of disappeared for a while, but now they're back with a good selection, and prices, and my next set of tires I'll likely get them.

i replaced the right rear(replace twice per oil change) with an old hankook out of the junkyard, it lasted 2 and a half months of relentless burnouts, great in my book

The 212 is used in street tire autocross classes, and it's supposed to be a reasonably fast tire (azenis 215, 615, MX, neova, 212 are the common tires that come to mind for STS/STX/STU).

I know someone who ran a E36 STX car and tried several tires, including the MX and Hankook. His favorite ended up being the very expensive Advan Neova.

For the price, I think the 212 is a good tire to try.

one thing I don't get is why is Neova so expensive here, Neova is priced slightly less than T1R in asia, here its like buying P-zeros.

212 coming out w/225/45-15 soon; should be good.

not quite as fast as 615/neova but good enuf to win a couple Tour events in 05. for street driving, 212 looks like a decent choice for the $ and has decent wet perf. too.

I ran the 212's on my 2002 WRX. Only ran them in 215/45/17 and even in that narrow of a size the grip was very good. I'd be hard pressed to find a significant difference between them and the RT-215's and RT-615's that I ran previously. I will be buying these tires again, especially in light of the significant price jump that Falken has given to the RT's. In the right hands, I've read that the 212's are marginally slower than the Falkens.

Autocross grip was better than I expected. Water handling was very good for this class of tire.

I'll go ahead and post this for BenFlynn. It is an excerpt from a conversation we had a while back...

"Dear Mr. Hankook,

I would like to thank you for making such a marvelous tire.

After recently installing one of your tires (that I bought off of a totalled car, with quite high mileage), I have been unable to burn this one comletely off the rim. Since installing your tire, I have gone through numerous other tires on the other three corners. Could you please send me three more to match the one I already have?

Thank you sir again for making an excellent burnout tire.

Regards,"
