My t25 turbo on my wagon will spool to 10 psi with the wastegate arm unhooked if I hammer it. I understand the concept of boost creep, why would it stop at 10psi? I am guessing that 10psi is the rate at which the venting equalizes? I would think it would continue towards infinity?

the turbo becomes increasingly inefficient and would need more heat and pressure on the turbine side to overcome the force on the compressor side to make more boost. Essentially it's just balancing out the energy its getting out of the exhaust and energy its putting into compressing the intake

Is this telling me turbo goes out of its efficiency ranges at 10psi?

It's telling you that since your exhaust system is so efficient. That when you have a full bypass without any tension on the wastegate so it can open as far as it can the airflow is still enough pressure that it will power the turbine upto 10psi. It's stopping there since there probably isn't a large increase in overall flow from the point that you hit 10psi would be my understanding. I don't know what point it hits 10psi but if you can make the wastegate more efficient to flow more then you probably won't get any boost at all. This sounds to me like it's due to the lack of flow from the internal wastegate.

/\agreed if you're saying that your turbo is setup to run 0psi with the wg open. that means your wg is that inadequate

I understand that the wastegate is inefficient, my question was why stop at 10? why not creep till 45? Is it that my turbo becomes just as ineffcient as my wastegaste over 10 psi?

i think it stops at 10psi because that's all the flow your system will allow with that sized turbo. stock 530, 700 ic, 48 exhaust housing(is it ported?)
