Can an inline radiator hose temp sensor be used for the CLT for MS? I would think that it would have basically the same temp as a sensor mounted in the head. If that works that would make it a lot easier for those without stock usable sensors for MS. I was just thinking of this at the yard pulling parts, and was wondering if it would work.

Yup, should work just dandy. Though I'm not sure if you'd want to put it in the lower hose which has the fresh cool stuff from the rad, or the upper hose which has the heat from the head, even though the thermostat is in the way. Probably upper hose.
But all the heads I've seen (and I've got about 6 in my garage right now) do have at least two sensor holes, and all you need is two. Dash gauge and MS gauge. Sometimes you'll need a little adapter. I remeber Morten posted the exact sensor that fits into the weird thread heads. I've just been using the volvo LH2.2 sensor, it fits in everything but my 405 head, but an adapter from the hardware store worked for that.

Yea, I was thinking of it and the sensors that I have are just off/on switches for the e-fan. So an adapter would be needed.

FYI-This sensor will fit in the thermo time switch hole:
Bosch Sensor- Part #0 280 130 037
Thread Size 14mm X 1.5 pitch
Resistance: Approximately 200 ohms at 212 degrees F (100C), approximately 2800 ohms at 68F (20C), and approximately 6000 ohms at 32F (0C), and approximately 11,000 ohms at-4 degrees F, (-20C).
Part could not be found using the Bosch part #. The part number that works is Part # C6020-12900. I located it using an '92 Audi S4 QT 20V, but the cheapest I found was through a VW part number. This site has it for $22 + $7 shipping and handling:
