Who's done this conversion, and will it be graced my Kenny's plug and play knowledge?

I'm in the middle of converting an '89 Bertone 780 from a b280f to a b230ft, and low and behold, the harnesses are different! I'm using a new 1985 turbo engine wiring harness, and most of the plugs and wires look the same, albeit ignoring the MAF, crank trigger, and knock sensors. So to keep the ghetto factor low, factory wiring will be used (primarily).

This all sounds like a plug and play LH2.4 wiring harness, however I want to use hall sensing as apposed to crank sensing with MS&S V2.2

Here are my “educated” wiring guesses:

From the Ignition computer in the left footwell:
#6 supplies power to the ignition module pin #4 and requires +12v switched
#16 controls firing of the ignition module pin #5 (is this +12, +5, or ground to trigger?)

From the Fuel ECU:
#2 is TPS
#3 is TPS
#5 and #17 are ground
#9 is +12 switched to Idle motor and radio interference suppression relay
#13 coolant temp sensor
#18 Injector signal (ground to fire)
#24 oxygen sensor signal
#33 Idle motor (ground to engage)
#35 +12 from ignition switch (start or run?)

Additionally I need to run wires for:
Intake air temp
Knock sensor
Hall sensor
Overboost cut-out
Fuel injection and fuel pump relay (supplying power to oxygen sensor, ignition, etc)

Please add any comments or suggestions to above wiring.

Can I use the three wires that run between the ignition ecu and fuel ecu to send signals #6, 16, and ground? This would eliminate additional cross-dashboard wiring.

This link has wiring diagrams for all 1989 4 cylinder 740’s.

the ignition module should get its power from the ignition switch, the ecu just tells it when to fire. From what it sounds like, you'd be better off just building a whole new engine harness for the ms and calling it a day.

The B-280 used two knock sensors.......Thus you will have a pair of choices for which signal lead you use if you go that route.
You will likely end up a LOT less frustrated if you make up a wiring harness for MS rather then cobble the factory harness....
