View Full Version : K-jet with MS

Okay, I know it's been discussed before as MS providing extra juice to an intact K-jet system. However, this (http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=65685) thread just gave me an idea.

Someone in said thread mentioned that there's approximately 11 feet of K-jet hard fuel line to replace. What if one replaced the 4 lines going to the injectors with ONE line and a common fuel rail? Since K-jet is constant pressure, and the injectors are quite different, it might be difficult to adapt a LH-style fuel rail to K-jet injectors. But one could quite easily add a B230F intake and LH injectors, rail and FPR.

Okay, so now you're asking why? If you're going to all that trouble, why not just rip the whole K-jet mess out in the first place? Well...why not indeed. Kindof for the same reason someone would use K-jet in the first place and piggyback MS. It would definitely be faster than a full MS install (for the uninitiated, anyway). The only thing I would wonder about is fuel pressure at the rail from 4 K-jet injector outputs. Not enough or too much?

Anyway...thoughts?

Heh, kinda figured that's the response I'd get with that question. Blame my mind being in a weakened state at the time of the post, will ya?

No ... no, it wouldn't. :)
BTW, K-Jet is varying pressure; the injectors are always dribbling, and the amount of fuel is varied by varying the pressure. Completely different to EFI.

Once you are familiar with pulsed injection and programming you will never look back to K-Jet.
Give it the MS treatment and smile knowing that your engine will be a better runner for it.
