Hey there, I have a major problem that is reoccuring while I have been tuning with Jared (ColdFusion21). The problem is that everytime I turn off the engine the MS will wipe its memory leaving me to the dreaded Fuel Pump flashing the next time I try to start the car. Suprisingly the MS will hold the firmware and it's settings while driving but the second you turn it off it's gone. I tried this theory when I got home tonight by simply shutting off the engine and attempting to start it back up and it already had nothing on the chip. I'm trying to find out what the hell could cause this crazy problem. I know it must be something on the board.
BTW: I have a V2.2 board running MSnS-E C13 with MegaTune 2.25
All in a '82 244Ti
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this puts a large clamp on my daily transportation.

you have a mis-config in your settings. www.msefi.com in the ms&s-e forum it will tell you how to dump the codes (i just reload the firmware, overkill, but eh) and it should tell you what you buggered up.

well, I have reloaded the firmware 3 times and it seems as though I'm going to do it a 4th so i can get to school tomorrow... Where are you referring to seeing the configuration error? I'm just curious because Jared is running an identical setup on the same car as I am and he has never encountered this. That leads me to believe that it is a problem more specific to my hardware. Thanks for your fast reply
EDIT: I have been using the command-prompt based firmware flashing utility if that helps

the ms won't trigger the on/off unless you have two mutually exclusive things toggled on.
say for instance ms&s mode *and* wheel decoder mode. something like that.
like I said, go check msefi.com under ms&s-e to dig out the issue at hand, iirc it'll pretty much tell you where you made the mistake, and then let you clear the code.

"Q - I have made some settings changes but when I turn it off then on it does not work any more. My fuel pump keeps turning on and off (flashing on stim)
A- You have made a configuration conflict. Open up Hyperterminal like you did when building the Megasquirt (see the Megamanual) and turn off then on your Megasquirt. It will print out a message saying what is wrong."

OK so the message was that it was trying to assign a spark output and that i needed to throught x17 or FIDLE... So I flashed it once again, loaded my configurations and then ran the review mode in MegaTune to look for any kind of configuration error. The only I found to be turned on that was unecessary was taht the distributor was assigned to be controlled by MSnS but since I'm only running squirt right now I changed that value to "Off". But otherwise I found no conflicts. So I turned off the car and attempted to turn it back on. Whala! It comes to life! Try it again! (Insert crazy, thankful word here) So far so good, I'm suprised that supposedly a conflict that small could do it so I am still sceptical. I will see how it does today. Thanks for your help guys
