Thought it was making a funky noise under boost, they finally let go, at some undetermined time. I'm making some new ones from 2"x2" box tubing, no bushings just bolts and metal. Maybe I can rip the mounts from the frame, I'll try my darndest. I'll post pics of the new rods once they're all welded up.

Also I'm installing a ceramic 6 puck clutch which should add some extra holding power that the crappy centerforce couldn't handle, tranny is next to implode.

I love the fact that you sell JDM air fresheners.

Heh, seriously though. Those are the best smelling things ever. Anyone who gets in my car wants one. I would make my house smell like that if i could. Sea Squash is the scent that I sell and like so much.

absolutely. I consistently destroyed sets in the 242, it got to the point where I just ran 1 cause it wouldn't completley break.

I say you keep the rubber bushings because otherwise it seems pretty guaranteed something else is gonna give. Where there's no flex, the car will attempt to create it.

Get some thick plumbing pipe and recreate the stock torque rods. Just put the welded seam so it's covered by the rod and welded all around.

Dude, the marble mouse rules! Towery, I had the 2x2 stuff sitting around so I'm going to go with it first, see how loud and clunky it is, definitely will be beefy enough. If they're too loud I'll probably take the time to make a decent pair of adjustable ones.

at least throw the ipd adjustables on there, they're pretty tough. you need to clean that keyboard, but like the trackball.

Spoken wisely Isaac
you need some type of bearing but deflection is not necessary, ie rod ends.

Isaac was correct, the connection needs the ability to twist and pivot. This can be accomplished with a rubber bushing or a rod end.

Rod ends will control your axle better and help eliminate the torque spikes that help shread ring gears

I had the exact same mouse in the bodyshop I ran for 6 years. After I left I started looking for one but have never been able to find that model. Jealous.

bah just find the next week spot and fix it. No one with a turbo'd V8 in their right mind will expect the car to be trouble free.

Heh, I did that with my 148whp turbo. I posted my pictures at ClubVolvo. Those look just like how mine broke. I had the same bushings in there. What happens is corrosion gets started in the area between the bushing and the torque arm. It slowly corrodes till it finally snaps. If you look at the edges of the break only a small area is shiny from the final demise of the arm. The rest of the crack is rusty so it's been corroding for awhile. The poly bushings are usually OK to use again if you clean it all up and and grease it well to hold off the corrosion.

In general it seems like every few years it's a good idea to take apart your poly bushed suspension and regrease everything.

What a great and powerful brick you have. Fantastic!
