Last night at 11:30pm i started my adventure with my dad going towards a black 90' 780T Bertone. Around 7:30am this morning after driving 400 miles one way we arrived at the seller's house, the car was simply beautiful, we couldnt say no. The car has 146,000 miles, fully loaded.

Gorgeous!! I love the black & chrome. Almost as sexy as the black 350 SDL turbo benz parked outside my window yesterday that I couldn't stop staring at... ooh, is that blasphemy on a volvo forum? For the record, I'd still take the Bertone over the Benz. But yeah... lotsa black, and lotsa chrome... mmmm.

 ill try my hardest.
more info on car, The guy i bought it from works for Dyer and Dyer Volvo out of Atlanta, he has owned it for a year, the owner before him had the car maintained at the stealership, and i saw one recipt where she paid $1000 for an ac compressor and another for $500 assuming one was only labor after warranty on the first. Another thing $510 for one nivomat. It amazes me how she was able to afford the maintenance of this car.

I don't think you have to do anything to that car at all...maybe some wheels if you really want them but shizzola....that is one beautiful car.

Nice trailer too!

its got a few interior things wrong with it , and both of the brake light lenses have a crack in them in them
on the trailer note, we thought it would be a little larger than we needed, but we got prooved wrong.

I'll say it: no matter how much you paid for it, that's a lucky find. I'm tempted to tell you to keep it stock. Keep all the stock parts for sure if you do mod it.

Well im already out some on the stock thing, it has some crappy keyless entry, and a kenwood casette player and 6 cd changer in the truck with some pissy ass amp.
Mods i plan to do, decent mp3 cd player, new speakers, 15g/16t, 3" exhaust, browntops, and cone filter, maybe fpre's chip.
As of now though, the car needs a complete tune up baad, and the power steering is making noises(not real loud) like it needs fluid, but its full and i couldnt find a leak.

Very nice!
Has it had any rear end damage? I noticed that the license plate frame is black like the rest of the car, they come from the factory gold zinc plated. Hinting at the possiblity of a repaint.

That is the hottest 780 I've ever seen(asides from the steering wheel and covers).:omg: Hopefully the leather underneath is as good as the back seats are. I didn't know they had black interiors, most of the ones I've seen are two tones. It looks so clean with just the solid black.

FYI as Isaac knows, and I can attest to the same thing: The rear towhook is not a reliable anchor point. It's plastic and can brake off at the wrong time! Isaac lost the front end of a Bertone to this, and I've seen a few broken towhooks :(

Beautiful car! I hate you so bad; I passed up a black on black 1991 Bertone in Washington DC. Stupid me...

VERY VERY NICE, I'd keep the seat covers, because then the leather underneath still stays perfect, at least for the passenger seat...

As long as the air-con works and if you tint the windows even darker, you on't hav much of a problem with the heat, plus the sunroof can be left open to let heat out too..

fige
03-19-2006, 10:49 PM
maybe you could lower it a little bit. the height of 780's always bothered me.

speaking of 780s...saw one today driven by a 70 year old couple, I gave them thumbs up and got a retarded stare in return :(. I got insulted and boosted off into the distance....

its the "road hazard" rear brake lights. it lights up two extra lights in the rear at full brake brightness all the time. the green rocker switch is for the fogs.

I think he meant the metal toggle switch under the red security light. My guess its to arm the security system? BTW if the clicker is an ugly 2 button black rectangle, it might be the original keyless :omg:
