Update those calendars folks, we're set for the 20th...

=====================================

Hey new england brixters,

having just raised my boost up to 14psi, I really want to get out to the strip to see what she can do. Because it's been awhile since the last drag day, I was thinking it could be about that time again.

I prefer Wednesdays due to shorter lines, so Greg and I have chosen the 20th. Let us know if that works, and give a post if you can make it.

$17 to race, $10 to watch. Gates open at 5 PM, the earlier you get there, the shorter the lines are. I'll be ready 'n waiting in the gate line at 5.

Vehicle must be street legal, running DOT legal tires that are not bald, automatics must have a working neutral safety switch, your battery must be secured, and your seatbelts have to work. you'll need a helmet if you run faster than a 14.

PM me if you want my cell #, or directions.

I live 10 minutes away from the strip, so generally my local weather is the same at NED. I'll keep y'all posted on the weather. Rain date is the 22nd or the 27th

Hey thanks for tipping me off on this thread, I never noticed it for some reason. So why don't we go and set the 20th as the date? That'll give people a little time, and Kevin should be in the area if he wants to make that drive, should be good.

If you change the thread topic, maybe Dana will make it a sticky.

Done.

20th sounds good...gives me time to get this damn car straightened out

20th guys...speak now or forever hold your peace

Now to post on brickboard

Should be good! I'm going to try a lower tire pressure to see if I can get some traction, Jason Zeiner seems to have had luck with that approach. With some luck, maybe I can get under 14.0!

Speaking of 14.0, you'll need a helmet if you run faster than a 14.

how the hell do I tie down my battery? it is held ina grooved plate with a clamp holding down the other side.. that thing isn't going anywhere :e-shrug: I will only go if I can geting something in the 17's with my wagon :x: PM me with directions and ****.. and I will see if I can make it. Should be able to. Do they also weigh your car? I really want to get mine weighed... how many runs is 17 bucks for? Does the run count if you crap out like a 4 sec 60 foot :freak:

I use a ****load of bungee cords. They don't say anything. Just be creative and hold the battery DOWN, not UP, with them.

Kevin, if you've got the stock battery hold down, and it's secure, then they will accept it. They just want it to be secured.

Volvo convoy, all for it! I got that day off, so I can do it any time. One time, when I was trying to do a Volvo convoy to the dragway, I suggested that we meet at a rest stop that is on 95 North, right where it meets 90. If you guys were planning on taking 95 up, then we can meet there, say at 3 or so. That way the traffic won't be so bad, and then we can just chill when we get up there.

Good place to work if you're into cars, though, right? Do you get a discount there if you aren't working in the retail end?

But what I meant was where is the place that you work located, so that we can come up with a good place to meet for a possible Volvo convoy.

If you 2 (shane, kevin) are going to try to caravan, and if you think 93 is going to be ok in the afternoon, then I'll try to meet you somewhere around where 3 hits 93. But I'd be inclined to stay away from 93 at that time of day.

Cullen, that sounds like a cool idea, we could grab a bite to eat before we go to the drags. I'll email ya.

Alright. Game plan:

We're coming to my place at 4ish for a BBQ of sorts, then heading off to the drags at 5ish. I'm getting the finishing touches on my car (had to fix a boost prob), and it should be ready by 4.

Call my cell.
