I have a 95 B230-FT, and I am getting slight pinging at 16 psi. I have bosch lh 2.2 and a .63/42 garrett t3. I currently am running the green volvo 0 280 150 804 low impedance 337-cc injectors. I would like to upgrade to either the 380-cc ford brown tops or the 391-cc volvo t5 fuel injectors. I would like to stay with lh 2.2 for now. I have read the write up on installing brown tops, but haven't been able to find any info on installing the t5 injectors other than bypassing the resistors in the resistor pack. Has anyone had any experience with the t5 injectors with lh 2.2
Hereis a list of my mods.
95 b230 ft, Ported, polished and gasket matched head. Ipd turbo cam and gear. Balanced bottom end. Knife edged throttle plate. full 3" downpipe and exhaust with atp ultimate waste gate housing. walbro intank pump. mbc set at 15 psi. ( I will be installing a 50 trim t3/t4 in the future)
Thanks for any info.

Hi, Im looking to do something similar.

However from my info I dont think the T5 injectors are 391cc, unless there a different part number from the info I have. My recently acquired t5-r s are (i was told) from an ex police vehicle. I havent fitted them yet, but there part numbers are 0-280-155-830.

The info on these are 350cc and are High impedance, whereas the 804s are LOW.

0-280-155-830 (BOSCH)

FLOW RATE
lbs/hr 33.3
cc/min 350.0
grams/min 251.7
Rating @
PSI 43.5
BARS 3.00
.42 BSFC - Est. HPDuty Cycle (80%) 63.4
.52 BSFC - Est. HP Duty Cycle (95%) 60.8
Impedance HIGH
From: Volvo 5-2.3l Turbo (850 T5)

I have 804s in my car at the moment, and i think its a LH2.4, which I believe is more adaptive than 2.2.

Please anyone feel free to hep correct me, and guide us both!

As there are 5 cylinders in a T5, thats prob where the extra power comes from, having an extra injector. Is it worth the upgrade? :???:

Further info appreciated, and Ill have a search round for info in the meantime.

UPDATE:
Info suggest that the blue injectors (mine are blue) rom T5rs are 391cc, but doesnt have part mumbers with that info.

Any1 know the part numbers for 391cc blue injectors ???

That BSFC rate you are using is too low for a turbocharged motor. Should be from .55 to .60. According to the Stan Weiss list, these would be capable of supporting 55 hp at a 95% duty cycle and 3 bars and a .57 BSFC. In other words, your looking at being able to only supply roughly 220 hp worth of fuel.

I would go to at least 42lb hour injectors depending on your power goals.

Also meant to say something to this....

Yes, LH 2.4 is more adaptive as you, but 2.2 can be made to work with larger injectors. There is procedure that involves putting the car in a special operational mode, hooking up a test light (so to speak), then adjusting the AMM. If you're interested, here is the process.

so then are the t5 injectors only 350cc, and which ones are 391cc?

apologies to oldduttyvolvo - I seem to have hijacked this thread!

850R manual and 1998 70 T5 injectors are the 350cc. These are the "white" injectors...

1999+ T5 injectors are 395cc. These are "blue."

Note that all 850 turbo and T5-R have orange-top 315cc injectors.

They should work just fine. There is a guy by the name of per0lund that is running those newer pencil style high impedance injectors in his B230 motor. PM him and ask for details. I don't believe that these injectors are outside of LH 2.2's ability to handle them (based on adjustment at the AMM).

Cheers

Thanks for your help guys ....

Ill try & be clear.

My R injectors ARE light blue, part number 0-280-155-830 from a T5 after 1999 but the info I have says these part numbers are 350cc. Maybe dierent in UK?

Which T5 injectors (part numbers) are Light Blue AND 391cc then?

Thanks!

I don't have any help for you but wanted to express my amazement that you are only getting pinging at 16 psi with a turbo cam, larger turbo, and "open" exhaust. I can barely get past 11 psi with my setup and then it starts to ping.:-(

also bear in mind the fuel pressure. pretty sure they run 3.8bar not 3bar, so 391CC at 3.8 bar is only 347 at a 740's 3 bar pressure.

any1 Know the Bosch part numbers for the 3.8 bar FPRs?

The 0 208 155 830 Injectors appear to be from V70 2.3L B 5234T volvos.

The correct FPR from the V70s appears to be 0 280 160 554.
I am unable to find info to know whether these FPRs are 3 or 3.8 bar.

Any further info or other 3.8 bar FPR part numbers that will fit a 740 appreciated.

So, let me get this straight.

99+ T5 injectors are approx. 347/350cc at 3 bar, and drop right in in place of NA injectors with no resistor pack. Correct?

Meaning, 4 of those injectors would be cleaner/easier than a set of 804 greentops and they'll flow a little more as well. Correct?

Then someone mentioned them being run at 3.8bar to get that flow rate, which would make their 3bar flow rate closer to 347cc.

You didn't answer my questions, either.

im running lh2.2 on my 83 and have used both the orange tops and am currently running the 155's with a 4bar reg, i have a simple air/fuel ratio guage in car and at 10psi boost it always runs slightly on the rich side all the way to redline, and boy will it run.And thats with no adj to the amm.
