Information is intended for Megasquirt EBC setups only

I hooked up the GM boost control solenoid today and I like it quite a bit better than the 850 one I used. I didn't use the 850 one for more than a couple days, so maybe I missed something or maybe it was just too old and used up. With the GM solenoid I can run 100% DC in the lower bins to hasten spool up and still control the boost in the upper bins, but I wasn't able to do that with the 850 solenoid. The GM solenoid works well at a PWM rate of 19.5hz.

They can be had for $11 at GMpartsdirect.com. This is the OEM solenoid for the Gm Typhoon. The connector for the solenoid is the same one found on most GM windshield washer reservoir and coolant reservoir tanks. I believe it's for the sensor on them? It should look like this:

These were free at the local jy and stupid easy to find or ?$13? for one online. You will need to source one of these because they do not come with the solenoid. The solenoid side of the connector has a plus symbol on one side. Though everything i've read has said that polarity doesn't matter on these, you might as well run the +12v to this side just in case.

Hooking up the solenoid:
The silver barb alone on one end goes to wherever your drawing the signal for the wastegate actuator from. In my case it runs to the compressor housing nipple. The black barb on the other end next to the foam air filter goes to the wastegate actuator.

I mounted it on one of the studs below the coolant reservoir.

Pure awesomeness, great info man. I think I'm going to go with this valve vs the 850 one.
