Now you need a red 780 to complete the trifecta.

Volvo floormats I think, maybe ipd. Clutch pedal had been getting caught on it, driver side out to be trimmed or something.

Sell em? He's gotta still have em on the car to sell after some random t-bricker decides to wander over there after dark some night and remove them.

Or maybe I'll just grab that pair on the car I saw last week in downtown....

AWESOME looking car man!

Strange. What effect would that have?

I'm not sure if the spoiler is stock or not. I'm thinking not.,

I'm not sure if the spoiler is stock or not. I'm thinking not.,Caster angle would be waaay off if it changes the axis the way it looks it does.

The rear wing was an accessory available through the dealerships back then. Probably installed by the original owner.

Mmmmmmm 601 classic red. My favorite!
Looks a lot like my 740, hmmm. Same color, sedan, turbo, WHAT a stick shift!?!?!? Son of a .!
Send me your hood. Pleaaase.
I believe that the spoiler is probably original and was ordered with the car. 760's lip spoilers were body colored like the side mirrors, and of course a 740 can not have those, so that's probably why it's flat black.
Very sweet find.

Yours is on backwards
the strut MUST be offset to the rear of the hole
its changes the chamber emensly, aka cuts it to half of what it should be

I've always loved red. If it only didn't draw so much attention from the state troopers.
Your cars look hot.

Thanks!

Well considering options for the 740. Clutch slips a bit, and one tire fire. lol.

Have a wagon to donate lsd. Considering whole axle or wondering if I can just take out the lsd parts and swap.

http://brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/Driveline.htm#RearAxleRatioTable

Appears it's not really possible to swap the rear ends for better fuel economy, but I suppose it would be possible to change for performance. I should say, there isn't any automatic cars with axles that would give taller gearing. Only manual cars have the 3.31, etc,

Thinking about putting a T5 in it. I guess that will give taller gearing, but I think would be nice to have it really low rpm at cruising speeds. Also seems like you do a lot of shifting with the m46. More shifting than go.

Considering putting in K2GT cam in the 740 for a while. Think it would be more suited to automatic or manual car?

i dont think manual turbo cars got anything lower than 3.54, fyi

1990 740 Turbo B230FT M46/M47 3.31, 3.54, 3.73

From some link. I guess that would be good. Would mean I wouldn't change my gas mileage too much. I would like to just get the rear welded up, but having been planning on swapping axles.

its pretty easy to sort out.

jack car up on that side (onto stand). put jack under arm, unbolt to the 2 nuts that hold the strut top to the body. lower jack a little till hte studs clear the sheet metal. rotate strut top, jack back up and put the nuts back on.

job done.

Worked through the night with a friend swapping parts around. Lsd axle swap into 740 from old wagon, and Ipd swaybar swap from new wagon, and chassis brace swap onto the 740. Wow, that took a long time. lol

Of course the 740 handles great now. Appears it has some type of KYB shocks in the rear and not the original springs as well. LSD was working well, but started having some weirdness with the transmission. Then it doesn't want to go into Reverse. At first it would reverse but with clunkyness, etc, then it started just sometimes going into reverse and acting normally, and other times nothing is there.

Friend thinks it's synchros. Anyone know what the T5 swap kit costs?
