I just moved into a nice pad and I need to kick it with my socal Volvo bros. Let's brainstorm a date for a BBQ at my pad in Costa Mesa. The summer is here and we should take advantage of it.

ONLY POSITIVE POSTS. None of this BS "I wish I was there for the summer" or "Why can't it be...". I'm over that. Step up. The East Coast and SE ALWAYS out does us....I'll be the first to admit it. Let's show them how it's down out West.

I'm super flexible with my schedule. Let's make this happen. I know at least a dozen members within a 100 mile radius. Don't be a pu$$y.

I'd love to see what the 122s will do now that it's back on the road. When, where, how much? Do we need helmets? I was thinking of heading over to the place they had the socal dyno day a way back, but the strip sounds like more fun.

BTW Sean,
there's a free stripper pole and platform in Newport on craigslist:
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/zip/171741849.html
That might come in handy for your party if you don't already have one.

hahahaha

i dunno , LA county sucks for drag racing

I was hoping someone out there in orange county would know of a quarter mile track which has street days more than twice a year and lets you get more than 2 runs in for $20

let me talk to my friend whose uncle supposedly has a dyno, that would be pretty fun

dyno and bbq would be coo!

I'm not fastest enough to need a helmet, but i don't have a neutral safety switch or radiator overflow tank, and my trans is a little leaky, at least when it has the proper amount of oil (no drips now), I'm not quite ready for the strip. They probably wouldn't like the bungee holding my battery either.

Must be too much other fun stuff happening outside the Volvo realm. Maybe people 'round these parts don't know what a giddy up is.

Dyno time is pretty much set up at GRC. They said something to the tune of

55-one run
65-two runs
75 three runs
If we have at least 10 people then the owner wil lower the prices about $10 or so. This includes AFR metering.

So now get off your asses and figure out if you're going to participate in the dyno sesh.

Ok people, I've got to call the dyno shop TODAY. I need a few more people to commit to dyno runs and the longer it takes to find people the less of a chance we'll have a place to dyno our vehicles. Ask your brothers, sisters, relatives, whatever.......don't let me down.

As it stands the dyno will probably not be a reality. We need 5 more people. I will try posting on the bimmer forums but it's looking kinda grim. If it falls through, then we'll go for a cruise.....

As of July 17th we have about 15 people. I'd like everyone who's attending to bring something to toss on the grille. I know everyone has their "specialities" so message me and let me know what your interested in bringing. I'll make sure I have the means to cook it. I'll be making some shish-ka-bobs with frostburner. It doesn't have to be something that needs to be BBQ'd......salad, pasta, veggies, fruit, dessert, etc are excellent ideas as well.

We'll most likely have a keg. I'd be cool to get a few bucks from anyone who cares to pump from it.

Going on a drive sounds interesting. It will probably have to happen before the BBQ so we can have anyone who's interested in going for a scenic cruise show up early. My car is running on 3 cylinders for some reason so if it gets sorted I'll drive it.

Don't slack on this b1tches....I've spent too much time trying to make this work. Let me know what you plan on bringing......this is probably going to turn out to an all night party with an even amount of females...yes, unusual for a tubrobricks function but the norm for a socalsean get together.

Real time picture posting is planned....is anyone down to chip in on paying some summer fairies to serve beer from the keg? 9$/hr does wonders down here ;-)

I'll fund one keg of good beer. Maybe some Humbolt Hemp Ale? It sounds like we might need a second keg and some beer serving fairies too. Make it happen sean!!! Dont worry about the funding. Plenty of people will chip in $5-10 and we can have a happenin party for just a couple hundred $$.

And as for daytime on saturday I am down to go make some junkyard runs. I need to finish the interior on the 740 asap.

If you guys want to go for a cruise, then that's cool but I'll be at the yards with some members from AZ and San Diego. You may want to plan that out amongst yourselves and try to do it in the morning or maybe we could do it after we eat but before we get tanked. People should probably start showing up around 11:30-12. PM me for directions.

If you have any cool X-Box 360 or PS2 games bring them.
