I tried to go to the first rallycross this season held by the DC region of the SCCA. The date was March 30th, and the couple days of rain before the event ended up cancelling it. I drove ~1.5hr down there in the SNOW, got covered in mud, got stuck in the mud, got really cold & wet, and then drove home in the snow...very annoyed. The event could not be run because the 4WD cars could barely get to the course, let alone navigate it with any sort of speed. I was under the assumption that it was a gravel/dirt surface. It was dirt and rocks, which became very sticky mud with big rocks sticking out. I don't think I'll be doing an event at their current location since I don't have a beater.

Nope, not me. Like I said, it's unlikely I'd do an event because of the course conditions.

If they do it again and it's gnarly, I'll pick you up in the Ranger. V6, 4WD and posi, with Yokohama Geolanders. Extracab with hidden 12" sub. Cushy, almost fast.(hey, I built that engine to pull stumps)
Excellent drift capabilities. Sturdy. Expendable.

DUDE!!! It was SOOO FUN!!! HA HA I can't believe how fun it was!I had street tires on, 2 more volvos showed up!!! A 1972 142E same color as mine!!! And Another 242 from IPD! ha ha... I didn't reach my goal, :-( which was to get my car muddy. It isn't to muddy. But I did drift down a whole block of mud in 3rd gear at about 30mph, and I did do a 360*, and A few 180*s. That volvo of mine is very fast on dirt, once it gets traction, **** suck in ur seat acceleration!!! Frikin awesome!!! A sweet Audi rolled over in the morning, he was in open class. He blew 2 tires on the same side, went to set up for a drift, it caught in the mud and over it went! I need to get some real tires on that car, and go again. Cause I think I did pretty good concidering. Also, everytime I ran, it was pretty freshly mudded. :e-shrug:

whimper.
We set up a course in my farmer friend's field a long time ago, but it was real rough, and we only had 2 or 3 people and cars.
Mine was the 73 Corolla, locked rear, big rear sway bar, homemade underdrive pulleys, no fan. I think it's still there in the woods. They drove it until the head gasket blew.

And this is the only pic someone sent me that is of me driving. I guess I need an LSD and some rally tires to spit up more mud on the other side of the car lol. :e-shrug:

Pretty bad pic but I was ON THE GAS!!! I had just pulled a 360* around a 180* turn and I was on the gas hard in 2nd trying to get it to MOVE! I hit 40mph b4 I got to the next turn, I was sideways down the whole straight, it was awesome!
