hey all.

i'd like to introduce to you, the sequel to the original weinermobile (a red '85 245 DL), the weinermobile II.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/heyheywhatsnew/162_6247copy.jpg

specs when i bought it:
1984 Volvo 244 Intercooled Turbo
m46, four speed + OD tranny
11 psi
super-stock.
peeling brown paint.

i had purchased this 244 Intercooled Turbo in january of 2006 for a grand total of $1,600 from a member that is no longer around these parts anymore (jjw114). when i first went out to look at the car, i wasn't able to drive a stick, so i had let my dad drive it while i sat shotgun. before dan sold it to me, he had a blow-off valve installed and from the very first WHOOOSH i was in love with it.

when i went back to buy the car, i actually had gotten to drive it. it was only for a few hundred feet, but man, i was dead set on this beast. sixteen hundred dollars later and she was mine. my very first car.

originally the car had no problems whatsoever besides the oil guage reading always at 5 bar, a cold/warm start issue, and a swapped-in odometer.

february rolls around and my license is revoked for a month for having two speeding tickets within a short amount of time. during the meantime, my dad once again becomes my chauffer. by the time i got my license back the car starts to become quite the problem child. the control pressure regulator seemed like it had failed, since i had lost what felt like half of the power i originally had! after swapping in a working CPR from Smith (smith_t240), i noticed i still faced the same problems.

damn.

it finally dawned on me that my little baby is quickly turning into my little money pit.

as a gift for my birthday, my parents decided to let me have part of a graduation gift a little earlier than what they planned on (which was five thousand dollars towards a car, buying/maintanence). ignoring the obvious fuel problem, i decided to put that money towards suspension components. only problem was that most of the parts i ordered from iPd were on backorder, so i had cancelled that and decided that maybe fuel was in the best interest. i talked to kenny and he agreed to set me up with a nice megasquirt system (Megasquirt 3, version 2.2) and harness to go along with it. more details when that arrives.

after a few junkyard runs, i decided my car was in for much desired appearance upgrade. a flathood, hoodpins, and 7" rounds were in order.

graduation rolls around and so does the rest of my graduation gift. this is where the list comes in:
-Devil's Own Water/Alky Progressive Kit
-iPd 25mm Front/Rear sways
-Koni Adjustable Shocks
-iPd Strut Reinforcement Plates
-Slotted rotors
-Semi-metallic brake pads
-VDO booooooooooost guage
-iPd Turbo Cam and adjustable cam gear
-iPd lowering springs
-adjustable panhard rod

and my two favorites:
-borbet type a rims i bought from pat
-group A spoiler from ash.

as of this afternoon, the car looks like this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v245/heyheywhatsnew/100_0006copy.jpg

current specs:
-B21FTL
-watercooled T3 stock turbo
-11 psi of BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST
-vdo boost gauge
-leaking m46
-soon to be replaced malfunctioning k-jet
-25mm front/rear sways
-borbet type a 17x7.5" rims
-flathood
-pepboy's hoodpins!11!!eleventy!!
-grp. a replica spoiler

everything else i've bought is just waiting on the sidelines, so until then, i'll have to stick with benchracing.

and that, for the time being, is the weinermobile II.

mods feel free to move this if it's not informative enough or project-worthy enough.

you, are one lucky as hell high school graduate, if i ever would have had my license revoked, i would not have gotten it back till i was 18 and by that time i probably would have been castrated.

Looks awesome.

I'm glad I've got medical insurance. I've been kicking myself very hard and nonstop for selling those wheels.

Looks great... I'd love a pre-86 turbo car. I know this is a little OT but how do you like the Devils Own alky kit? The kit is based on the AlkyControl(.com) kit and we recently had a customer with one installed on his supercharged '05 GTO. It seemed to not be spraying an even amount of alcohol(methanol, whatever) every time which was kinda frustrating. I also heard it has nozzles instead of a gain control for the sprayer.

Anyway just wondering how thats working out for you. Alcohol injection is freakin awsome, and don't ruin it by mixing it with water!!! :) We've installed as well as tuned several cars with alky on them (running pump gas) and we've only seen good things... We basically stick by the AlkyControl.com kit because the quality is like no other, good luck with everything though!

I needed the $ to do some repairs to the R [MAF, o2 Sensor, windsheild]. If I would have fitted the Polaris to the R earlier, I would have sold the wheels that were on the R [Comets] and stuck the Borbets onto the 240.

thanks!

i have yet to install it (waiting on the megasquirt to come in first), but once i do i'll document the process and photograph it!

i thought the polaris were giving you rubbing issues?

Rolled the fenders.

I'm getting another set of wheels for the R soon so I can put the Polaris back on the 240.

hmm.. just a plain old B21FT.. wait, what are those wires poking out in front of the battery?

water injection, perhaps?

i finally got around to mounting the devil's own alcohol injection system. i'm using my washer resevoir as the water tank for the system. so far it has only been mounted, and not wired in. i'll have to make a junkyard run to get a 2 or 3 Bar MAF before it will be fully operational, but for the time being, there it is.

M46 is on its last leg though, and i'm currently looking for an M47 + driveshaft to swap in. if anyone has one laying around, give me a holler.

Where's the BOV?

If you get need a hand with anything in early January (before school starts again) let me know. I miss working on 240's and I'm always down for learning something new.
