This is going to be my first documented build

The car is a very used 1980 242 Dl

for now we are just resurrecting it. stock motor
auto trans
no A/C
but it does have
power steering
and a sun roof These are just the start of the picture's

A build up is being toy 'd around with there several different options but this is what this car is starting out as

I have About 100.00 into the car at this time
The body is very straight the inside is not as bad as it looks in the photo the c-note is towing costs " three times now " I finaly pulled the frozen motor from the car today I will have some photo's of non rebuildable block and some very interesting bent rods. when it went it even broke the balance shaft It took two hours to remove one far e-nuff to pull the rest of the tourque converter bolts from the fly wheel.
The heart transplant just going stock for now ... but have a few ideas for the future.

I was given an other 78 242 for parts. That car has already been stripped and dispossed of I have quite a few parts including an engine and a spare auto trans .but i will need some interor part's... such as seat's

Sorry I did not get alot done on this car today I will have more to report on Thursday I would like have it running by the end of next weekend... I know its a pipe dream but it doesn't hurt to dream.

Well I think Its time to give you all the low down on this project I have rounded up most of what I need to put this car back together .

This is a short list of what is planed
At this point I only have $120.00 into the car !!!!!! and that includes towing the car three time’s

Swap the motor I have a 1978 b21f with less than 150k

Install the auto trans with less than 15 k miles from the 1980 “was just replaced when they made the engine go boom”

Swap out the heater/ac box for one with air “from parts car “ install all necessary components to make the air work control head, cables, hose’s and all parts from under the hood I will need to buy Freon “I have a MACS card so I can still buy r-12

Install chrome mirrors and all exterior trim “from parts car “
Clean and refurbish the inside

Try and restore the paint I’ve done some of this already and it looks good .

I anticipate having about $400.00 in the car when back to running driving smogged and Ice cold ac.

I will have some more pictures of where I’m at this coming weekend I have the motor and trans ready to go in that is tonight’s project As I said before I would like to have this car running by the end of this weekend
