I just moved to Richmond and would like to get some regular Volvo gatherings organized. This town is full of Volvos and we have a great independant repair shop here (Paul's Volvo).....I know they'd sponsor some gatherings, etc. E-mail me and maybe we can get something organized....

I live in norfolk and would be very interested in doing something down here in tidewater i think there would be more than enough places that we could all gather. Ive got an 83 flathood glt and an 88 na245 and when i bought these vehicles i had no idea of the following that volvo had its incredible and i would love to be a part of some sort of meet. Would be great to get to know some of the other folks that love there volvos not to mention the possiblity of finding parts and what not. And just a quik not for those of you in the lower part of Va if you need parts and you havent been to uwrench it yet lemme tell you your missin out you can buy anything dirt cheap im talkin entire engine with all accesories for 149 without accesories 99 bucks interior parts seats are 11 bucks they have a bunch of bricks out there My wife (yes i said wife) and i go out there probly twice a month to scavenge for parts all the cars are off the ground you can safely get under then without a jack the place is great and cheap as hell too. Anyway just wanted to throw that out there in case you all didnt know about it.

I am not even a member of VCOA, so I didn't know that they had a Tidewater chapter. Who sponsors/hosts the meetings? Philips Volvo? Eurotech (owner is a jerk!)? There are quite a few hot Volvo's down here, including the white/purple/yellow NA 245 showcar.

I am in Va Beach, and I would be willing to travel within the state for a meet. I have an 85 740 turbo...many mods(IPD 25/25, 17's, stereo, 2.5" exh etc., and my friend Mike has a B23ft/M46 powered 80 242. Soon to get a porsche intercooler, corbeaus, MSD etc.

I know ernie and his son who built that wagon, there is also a guy down here with a Bertone 242 with a v8. Also the usual slighly modded 740 turbos.

We are also working on another 80 242 project car that will have a built mopar V8 engine in it hopefully. I would love to meet with fellow volvo enthusiasts to chat and trade parts etc.

I'll agree with you on that one. Especially in Oregon. The VCOA meets aren't that big around here or anything, they are trying to get more people though.

Are you taking about the VCOA meets or the thing about the Volvo scene being out west? I'm saying that the meets here in the tidewater area don't have a huge turnout.

Track day? Even if not, I'm still interested.

I would guess that there might be another spring show organized by Swedespeed. We had one last April at Annapolis Volvo that had a great turnout.

Normal costs are 3 Drag Runs-$50, 2 H/P Pulls-$75, Combination of both $75 and Tuning Use-$100/Hr. Or, since the weather's turning finally, we could always take a drive up 5 to Richmond for breakfast at Millie's. That way we could meet up with our Western Brothers. :lol: (Millie's has great food, btw)

Michael, where's your shop? I'm over Hampton way 2-3 times a week. I've got a bunch of crap I'm throwing at the wagon in the next month and would love some before/after numbers.

ok, i see alot of volvos in the hr area, LETs SET THIS MEET UP!!!!!! today would be 04/08/03 tuesday, i know of where all the "rice" and "bigblocks" meet in this area anyway, they meet on saterdays, normally around 10-11 is when everybody is there, i would love to get a group of locals to meet up with me and go REP THE VOLVOS!!!!!!!!!! talk some trash to some hunda owner stuff liek that, mayb give um a taste of volvo POWER! :pow: :pow: :pow: :twisted: , the past saterday night there was about 200 + cars people at the "show", LET MEET UP< AND REP THIS SATERDAY!!!!!!!!!
