I made a flexible shaft from 850 parking brake cable. The white fitting that slides over it is a Teflon and serves as sliding "hanger bearing". A small screw was welded to one end. On another one I used a sleeve and silver solder to join a screw to the end of the cable. They bot work. If you are using some other kind of cable make sure that it is twisted in correct direction.;-)

I like the 850 brake cable Idea. Brilliant.
