(link should work... seemed to be down now...)

Basically saying that there is a meet of VCOA boys of Texas at my place of work... http://www.southwestauto.com which is John Howe's cool place... should be plenty of vintage and bertones and such...

DATE: currently To Be Determined

But it'd be nice to have a nice showing of the newer RWD cars... especially of the more "tuned" variety!

I'm coming with my 242GT with its 2.25" exhaust, permacool, dialed in suspension and V15 cam... (whoop  )

There's a huge used parts department in the back and I'll be there to "help" you guys get good deals on whatever you'd need... lots and lots of junk!

Help Volvo get away from the image of dyed-wool and pipe ol' boys ;)

If that's totally not your cup of tea, I can arrange a really fun time as I'm a local... maybe some strip time (lol... never even been to a strip before...) but we'd have a nice dinner, hang out with some experienced volvo/turbo dudes, and there'd be some nice back roads to go flying down at night... lots of that! flat, narrow 2-lane asphalt, straight as an arrow... a bit far, but quite desolate and fun to drive... yadda yadda

I promise that I'll make it more fun than just the simple "meet" there for those of the younger crowd (this also means younger-at-heart *wink*wink* Dan C!)

I hope to see plenty of you guys there!

Lets show 'em!

that's cool as sh*t that you work at southwest auto. i wish i could have worked at a volvo shop in college, talk about hog heaven.

i definitely should make the meet. i need to talk someone up about getting a motor for my '88 745T. i'd like to get a 94-95 turbo motor for it. also i might try to get southwest auto to sell my '93 944T for me. i figure i could get a better price for it in DFW than in WF. what kind of commission do they charge.

also, i wish they were open on saturdays b/c that's the only day i can come down to get work done.

so far as i know they do no mechanical work on weekends. i had a 100k done on my 944T there. i dropped it off one weekend and picked it up the next. kind of a pain in the butt b/c it requires two cars and a 4 hr round trip both times. if you (78GT)know different let me know.

I'm going to work today, I'll see about it. Maybe I can talk to a mechanic who might be willing to work on saturday... what kind of work do you need?

As for a 94-95 motor... they can be had... I havent looked around for one yet..

As for selling a car, you'd have to call southwest auto and ask for Jesse (972)488-2525
