Stillman Volvo Get-Together, Sunday 11/9, West Chester, PA

For the second in a row, Stillman Volvo will host a Volvo get together at the dealership in West Chester, PA. Last year the turnout was excellent, highlighed by one of three supercharged V8 powered 960 wagons built by Converse Engineering. This year we're hoping for even more cars.

If you are coming from the NJ/NY area, take the NJ Turnpike South and exit at #6 (Pennsylvania). After the toll and crossing Delaware River Bridge, you are on I-276 West (Penna. Turnpike). Take it all the way to exit 22 or 23 (forget the correct number but it is the VALLEY FORGE exit). Pay the toll and IMMEDIATELY look for signs to Rt. 202 SOUTH, West Chester. Take Rt. 202 South and after about 22 miles (go PAST West Chester) you should come to the interesection of Rt. 926 and Rt. 202. Stay on 202 and we are on the right hand side, about 1 mile down the road. Right on Rt. 202.

If you are coming from the South (DE/MD/DC/VA), take I-95 North, cross into Delaware and as soon as you are in Wilmington, DE start looking for the exit that indicates "Rt. 202 NORTH, West Chester, PA). Take the exit and as the road splits, bear left. After the ramp, you are on Rt. 202 North. Go through a series of stoplights with shops and restaurants on either side of the road and soon you will be crossing into Pennsylvania. After about 3-4 miles, you will come upon a big intersection; Rt. 202 and Rt. 1. Stay on Rt. 202 and after 3 stoplights you must get on the LEFT lane. At the fourth lught (which will come very quickly after the 3rd light) make a left and you will see Stillman VOLVO on the SOUTHBOUND side of Rt. 202. Enter the parking lot and see you there!

If you are coming from West (NW Maryland, Western PA and York/Reading, PA area), take the shortest possible routh toward Rt. 30 EAST adn from there to Rt. 202 SOUTH. Then, follow the directions I listed for those coming from the North.

There will probably be a small group gathering around Rockville to go up. Last time I think we had about 5 or 6 cars total, but we met up with a couple of them north of Baltimore. I'm sure it can be arranged to make a stop along the way to add more to the group.

I'll post here if we get something arranged closer to the date of the event.

On the 7th/8th I'll probably be in Bethlehem visiting my grandmother, so prehaps you could count us in the caravan...otherwise, we'll just show up at the meet. yea i was thinking of hitttin the track up saturday night with cullen and jimmy. We're probably going to take the northeast extension of the pa turnpike to Rt 276, bla bla bla. Looks like there will be 3 or 4 cars in our caravan. Once again, PM a cell phone number if you wanna join our caravan.

It looks like we're meeting at Ikea off I95 at White Marsh (north of Baltimore) at around 9:30am sunday morning. Last year I think a few guys met in montgomery co., MD and drove up to white marsh to meet the rest, but I don't recall because I was running late and just went straight to Ikea and we all left from there.

I had a great time at the meet today. Finaly I have met more than one person that doesn't think I am crazy for trying to make my car go faster. I met alot of realy chill people today and can't wait to do it again. (minus the speeding ticket on the way) I was looking at the swedespeed page about this meet and Doug H, The man who was there with his V70R took a few pics, not so much in favor of the RWD guys, but I figure I will put the link here anyway.

I had a great time, met cool people, saw cool cars, and the trip down and back for me was half the fun. The new motor ran absolutely perfect, giving me no problems anywhere along the way.

Pete, Jimmy and I had a killer time the night before the meet.

I would've liked to race Mike ;) but there's always next event.
