Screws? Hose clamps? WTF were these people smoking?

And WTF is all over the underside of that car? Looks like someone mixed tranny fluid, bearing grease, and oil, then sprayed the entire underbody like it was rustproofing stuff.

Uh. That's not the rustproofing. That's collected crap. You can see where fingers went down the metal lol. I know what the rustproofing looks like. It's like hard roofing tar. Weird-lookin stuff.

Hey, dude, it was a joke. Volvos leak oil, oil prevents rust, get it?

the fact that your car is a ford makes it more of a fire hazard than a lit cig in a pool of gas

Wow nice one mike, i must say you have got balls of steel, or stole someones balls. heh, thats a bitchin fuel line, wonder how long till it will actually take before it gives up the ghost or springs a leak ....and mustangs arnt a fire hazard, unless the accel pump on the 2bbl carb decides to leak. Then its aimed right at the dizzy...YEAH!!!

and eh last night i find out there is a 90' 740 turbo wagon that just needs paint for $600 in socal ... dmanit now i want that but the wife already said NO ... gah

and i really think i might DD this car. so i need to dig up a LH fuel tray and a bunch of the fuel lines off junkyard cars so i can set the wiring up right. fuel pump power wise i will need to figure something out. guess i'll have to run some kind of crazy relayed setup with power for the pump coming right off the batt vs thier tap in they did

2 questions for ya:

What th hell is on the roof lining?? it looks like blood splatter or something!!!

And

What is that metal canister on the fuel line for, near the red zip tie.

Cigarettes dont burn hot enough to ignite gas...

But DAMN thats nasty. At least it goes...

- Headliner was a redone one, but obviously been treated poorly. Sunroof headliner was just ripped out, since it thing was raining foam particles otherwise.

- Zip ties are our's, as before, the fuel lines were just dangling and occasionally would scrape on the ground and/or get rubbed against the driveshaft.

- Didn't know that the spare key existed ... otherwise I wouldn't have got two new keys made.

- The whole underbelly is rustproofed with ATF. Seriously.

Fuel filter for a carb.

That's the funniest **** I've seen all day.

Not that it's really super funny, but man that is awesome... gives the car "character"

Like seriously though, that car will clean up nicely with not too much work for someone that knows what they're doing.

MikeHardy
12-13-2006, 07:29 PM
that does matter as such being a mock up car an' all.

thelostartof
12-13-2006, 08:11 PM
yea for starters i think i will just build parts off it like header/downpipes and exhaust systems .. once i find enough spare parts i am going to try to fix the ghetto fuel pump crap, give it a new exhaust, sand it down and paint it all some kind of black paint(rattle can for the WIN) and then swap out the trans for a non leaking/slipping one and use it as a beat around car being it does have a rebuilt engine that runs REALLY strong. tho i almost want to pull the engine, +T it and then throw it in the wagon, and put the wagons crappy 150,150,150,180 compressor b230f in there .... hm

That sounds more feasible for two reasons:

- wagon > sedan
- clean grey cloth interior > dirty tan interior.

-- Kane ... as you can tell, I didn't have a chance to clean it up beyond the front carpets.

thelostartof
12-14-2006, 01:48 PM
which was already 10x to much stuff to clean up

and find me more AZ cars with valid tags .. looks liek it will only cost me $4 to get a title on it here

fill the tranny with grease Lightning, then it will clean the underside up real good.

Good luck on the fix up

I figured any aspect to make it a tad less ghetto is a positive, so.

Damn, that's cheap for registration. If it wasn't for AZ getting so ****ing hot in the summer, it might be consideration for me to move there.

As for another car ... so should it be another '90 or a white sedan? :D

-- Kane ... FWIW, of the 4 Volvos that Mike has owned, three have been white 744 sedans and three are the oddball 1990 year.
